How To Resolve Matchmaking Issues
Difficulty is a constant concern in Souls games, though it is one that is by intent. Not being able to find a match,that’s a technical error that no skill ceiling can fix. When queueing up for an expedition, it is likely you’ve encountered the issue of finding a single other player almost immediately, and then never finding that third player. Then someone leaves and you have to start all over again. A cruel cycle.
In the meantime while we wait for FromSoftware to make a proper fix to whatever plagues Nightreign’s matchmaking,here are a few optionsyou can try out yourself:
FromSoftware recommends not using a NAT Type 3 conenction, though just like restoring your Database to fix your framerate,this is far from likely to be your issue.
Beyond these options, you are simply waiting for a proper fix along the way. At least player numbers aren’t the issue.
Can You Play Offline?
Despite Nightreign being made as a game all about cooperative play,it is a game that lets you play solo. Sure, it’s incredibly difficult and not quite balanced around it, but it is very much an option. This lets you forgo the matchmaking system entirely.We even have a full guide on how it all works.
In fact,you can play the entire game offline, too. If the servers are down or you lose internet connection yourself, the game is still fully playable with no functionality lost beyond accessing a multiplayer match. You can choose to start offline from the Network options in settings.
