Where To Find Whalaska
Whalaskais a new pal that was added with the most recent update of the game, and in order to add it to your roster of pals, you need to do some traveling.
Make your wayto the very north of the map, where you will be able to finda frozen island-like areacalledIsle of the Glacial Core.
Around this island, you should be able to findone or two Whalaska floating nearby. They are easy to spot due to their size.
In order to catch one, make sure you have a decent sphere, andsimply lower its health without defeating itto increase your chances of capturing it, then throw your sphere at it.
Alternatively, if you opt to defeat it, you will have a chance to get eitherPal Fluids, Coralum Ore, Ice Organ, or Large Pal Soul.
There is another way to get your hands on this pal, andthis will require you to do some fishing. However, it’s not guaranteed you’ll get it on the first try, and it will require some patience.
On Feybreak Island, both to the southeast and west of it, you will findseveral fishing poolsthat you can use for a chance to get Whalaska.
Now, that’s not all, as there is alsoan Alpha version of Whalaskathat you can obtain, but it won’t be as easy as the regular one. Luckily, it is located near the Isle of the Glacial Core, just northwest of it.
Before you attempt it,you must have a flying pal or a swimming pal, as there are only a few glaciers you can use as ground to fight. You will heavily rely on ranged attacks to lower its health as much as possible before capturing it.
Now, you may wonder why you would want to go out of your way to get Whalaska, and there are a few reasons.
ThisIce-Water type palis useful if you decide to put it in your base, as you will probably not find a better match for both Cooling and Watering tasks. It excels in them, withLevel 3 Watering and Level 4 Cooling.
But that might not be what you want, and you may prefer to take it with you in the field, which is also a good choice.Whalaska is a great combat partner, especially against Fire-type pals. Not only that, but if you manage to craft its saddle, you can alsouse it as a mountto help you traverse the world.
That’s not all. Probably the best and most unique part about Whalaska ishow it helps with fishing.
Thanks to its Partner Skill, fishing minigames start with the capture gauge more filled than usual, and the capture gaugeincreases more quickly when the timing bars overlap, making it much easier to complete and get all the pals you need.
As always, we provide you with a map that showcases all the possible locations, highlighted in orange, where you can find the Whalaska pal.
