Thorny Blast Caveis a Challenge Course in theCanyon LayerofDonkey Kong Bananza, all built around a sandy desert theme. One of the big hazards of his area are the thick, twisting thorns that sprout from bulky vines, and navigating these is the key to completing Thorny Blast Cave.

As with a lot of these Challenge Courses, completing it is not too difficult once you grasp the central mechanic - in this case,destroying thorns. However, just going through the level in straightforward fashion won’t be enough to get all those tasty Bananadium Gems, because one is hidden away.

How To Get The Hidden Bananadium Gem In Thorny Blast Cave

Afterdropping down the gap in the metal grate, which comesafterthesecond tunnelbutbeforethesecond set of moving thorns, don’t go forwards as you might expect. Instead,turn around.

Here, you’ll see thesecond Bananadium Gemhidden behind acrack in the wall.Throwaboxat themines, thenclimbalong one of theside wallsto the alcove to grab theBananadium Gem.

How To Complete Thorny Blast Cave

When you first enter Thorny Blast Cave, it won’t look like there’s anywhere to go. But, since that wouldn’t make for a very fun video game, there is.Head leftandpunchthrough thelighter square of wall, and keeptunnellinguntil youemergeon the other side. In here, you’ll find a set of moving thorns.

Grab the nearbyboxesandtossthem at thepink mines on the thorns. These will explode, and that willcarve a pathto thefirst Bananadium Gem.

For the second part, it’srinse and repeat- justavoid the thorns and the glowing pink explosion fieldsaround the mines in the next sandy tunnel. At theendof thesecond set of moving thorns, you’ll get thethird Bananadium Gemand the course will be over.
