There aredozens of side quests waiting for youinOblivion Remastered,like Tears Of The Savior, which tasks you with hunting down the remains of a folklore legend. You’ll need to chase down rumors and speak with S’drassa to learn more about this unusual adventure that awaits you.
If you’ve been craving mischief and are fighting an uncontrollable urge to visit ancient locations that have been previously thought lost to time, then this is your chance. Learn the legend of Garridan, a hero who failed in his quest, so that you can seek out his tears and succeed in your quest.
How To Start Tears Of The Savior
Head over to the Leyawiin Mages Guild Halland find a Khajiit namedS’drassa,who has a unique dialogue option to choose aboutGarridan’s Tears.
Follow S’drassa’s recommendation and make theArcane Universityyour next stop.
This is a great reason tosave the Leyawiin Recommendation quest for last,since you’d be heading there anyway at this point.
Speak to Julienne Fanis at the Lustratoriumto learn more about the story behind Garridan’s Tears. Julienne then mentions that you should go to the Imperial City Market District and buy a book calledKnightfallfrom theFirst Edition shop.
Where To Find Garridan’s Tears
Speak to Phontias andbuy the book for 25 gold,and your quest will update.
Once you read Knightfall,your quest will update, and you’ll learn that you need to find Refined Frost Salts to enter a location calledFrostfire Glade.
Luckily,Julienne Fanis has some Refined Frost Saltsavailable to buy at her shop if you need some. She’ll be in the Arch-Mage’s Lobby now.
To get the most gold from this quest,you shouldstop by S’drassa in Leyawiin again,who gives youfive Philters of Frostward,which can help you resist the deadly frost damage you’re about to encounter.
Luckily, if you have the Atronach birth sign or have access to either Spell Absorption spells or gear, you can negate the damage that way and sell the Philters for a massive sum of gold.
These potions can fetch up to 816 gold each, depending on your Mercantile skill.
Once you’re ready with an appropriate method of dealing with Frost damage, head toFrostfire Glade to the northeast of the Imperial City.
Once you reachFrostfire Cave,fight off a few animals en route to a secret door that will open with the Refined Frost Salts.
When you step inside Frostfire Glade, you’ll find theFrostfire Atronach Gladelord– a strong opponent who can easily take you out if you’re not careful – wandering the area.
It’s weak to fire, but it can reflect your spells, so be careful. Don’t bother using Frost or Poison on this creature, it resists them.
Once you defeat the guardian, check around themisty section of the glad to find Garridan’s Tears.If you need to use potions to survive frost damage, now is the time.
You’ll find the tears on the misty areas of the ground,just look for the hand icon, as the tears might’ve shifted depending on how wild your fight with the Gladelord got.
Generally, thetears should be centered around the frozen form of Garridanin the central area of the glade.
Once you collect all five of Garridan’s Tears,you’ll receive an update letting you know you have them all and that you should return to S’drassa.
What Rewards Do You Get From Tears Of The Savior?
Once you return to Leyawiin,speak to S’drassa to receive your reward of up to 2,500 gold,depending on your level.
