To the various people living in Avalon in theTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, the All-Mother is a religious figure. They may call her by different names, but in truth, the deity is the same, and many pray to her for safety and guidance, especially in such trying times as those of the Red Plague’s return.
Alongside prayers, many people make offerings to her shrines in hopes of receiving a physical gift from the All-Mother, but you can’t just give her shrines anything. Each one is unique and asks for its own set of offerings. If you don’t give thanks in the right way, you won’t get her blessing.
How To Make An Offering To The First All-Mother’s Shrine
The first All-Mother’s Shrine is located on thebeach at the southeastern cornerof theHorns Of The Southregion, justsoutheast of the East Gateand the Blood Lake, and you can reach it byfollowing either of the two paths down the hilluntil you reach the beach.
Thetwo peasants outside the shrine can’t be spoken with; they can only be attacked and killed, and both give you some basic loot, like the Ragged Peasant’s armor set.
TheAll-Mother’s Shrine sits inside the ruins, but unlike other shrines, itdoesn’t list the items you may offerto it andwhat blessing it gives.
To find outwhat you’ll need for the offering, go outside the ruins, look at thecamp next to it, and loot thebody of the dead noblemanto get theLetter To Aleous.
Read the letter, and it will reveal thethree items neededto make the offering:Sage, a Feather, and a Rose.
You canobtain the Summon Corpse Eater spell if you defeat the Corpse Eater miniboss and loot the chests in the final room of the Flooded Mines.
When you’ve gotone of each of the three items, head back to theAll-Mother’s Shrine on the beach, interact with it, and thenselect Make An Offering.
In return, you’llreceive first The All-Mother’s Mercy Amulet, a piece of equipment that can besold for 200 Goldor willrevive you with full health upon dying if equipped, but as a penalty, theamulet will break.
Don’t use any of the three All-Mother’s Mercy Amulets, or else you’ll be locked out of getting the True All-Mother’s Amulet, which offers a permanent 35 Max Health upon use.
How To Make An Offering To The Second All-Mother’s Shrine
Thesecond All-Mother’s Shrineis also located in the Horns Of The South region, and you may find it in themiddle of some ruinsnortheast of the Abandoned Village.
From the keep, head east on themain road, then follow itnorth away from the Ruined Market Squareuntil you reach theHunter’s Camp. Start goingnortheastalong the road,passing the Archspireand the campsite related to the side quest, I See A Darkness, thencurve around back north, climb the rocks, and the All-Mother’s Shrine will be in thecenter of the ruins near you.
Interact with the shrine, and you’llget a scene with a spiritfirst that leads to youstarting the side quest, Best Friends Forever, and you’llneed to complete it before you cando anythingwith the shrine.
How To Complete Best Friends Forever
Gobehind the shrineand use aShovel to dig up Kendall’s Skull, then bring itback to Berg. You can find himfishing at the village behind the keep, and when speaking to him, you’ll havethree options, two for additional info and one to progress:
This dialogue will lead you to one more choice:making Bern take Kendall’s Skullor not giving him the Skull. No matter what option you pick, you’llcomplete the quest stepand can return to the All-Mother’s Shrine andspeak with Kendallone more time.
How To Find The Second Shrine’s Offerings
Now you canmake an offering to the All-Mother’s Shrinelike normal, and this onerequires different items than the first: a Mandrake, a Raspberry, and Rosemary.
If you’vefound the Blood Cave beneath Blood Lakeand defeated Mallory, you’re able to also find three Mandrakes on a desk on the second floor of the inner chamberwhere the Hollow Druid is.
When you have everything, return to the second All-Mother’s Shrine and make an offering to her toreceive the All-Mother’s Mercy Amulet, which is thesecond part of the True All-Mother’s Amulet, and if worn, itrevives you with 100 percent healthwhen dyingin return for destroying it.
How To Make An Offering To The Third All-Mother’s Shrine
The third All-Mother’s Shrine is located in thenorthern part of the Horns Of The South, and it can be found in someruins slightly northwest of the bridgethat leads to the Ancient Cromlech.
From themain roadeast of the Horns Of The South Keep, gonorth past the Gallows and the Forgotten Cemeteryuntil you reach afork in the roadgoing two directions. Goeast again until you reach a second forkin the road, then gonorth to the bridgeuntil you see an NPC named Broc. Goover the bridge, and the ruins you need are just afew steps northeast.
If yousearch the body of the Priestess in front of the shrine, you’ll not only get her armor and a cape, but the note she carries tells you about what you need to do with the amuletsand to take them to the All-Mother’s Temple.
For thisthird shrine, the offeringsaren’t as hard to findas the first two, and only require Burdock Root, a Bone, and Monster’s Blood.
Bring the items back to the All-Mother’s Shrine and make an offering toreceive the third All-Mother’s Mercy Amuletyou’ll need for the final amulet.
How To Get The True All-Mother’s Amulet
The True All-Mother’s Amuletrequires you to go to the All-Mother’s Templein the Horn Of The South, and it can be found in thenortheastern corner of the region, past the bridge north of the Abandoned Village and inside theDál Riata village.
TheDál Riata village isinitially blocked,but there’s one way to get in:progressing through the Shadow Of The Hornsmain quest enough togain access naturally. After speaking with Mabyn,proving yourself to theDál Riata, you’ll be able to enter the All-Mother’s Temple.
If youenter the village without progressing in the main quest enough and attempt to enter the All-Mother’s Temple, it will be considered trespassing. You’ll have to fight to leave the zone safely, and won’t be able to enter the temple yet either.
Once inside the temple,watch the cutscene if neededor go through to thesecond room on the right, with a shrine inside and a berserker throwing rocks. Interact with the shrine whileholding all three All-Mother’s Mercy Amulets, and they’ll becombined into the True All-Mother’s Mercy Amulet.
This amuletstill has the same trade-offof reviving you at 100 percent health if you die, and it breaks in return, but this whole one has thebonus of giving you an extra 35 Health permanently when this happens, making it incrediblyuseful to use as soon as possible, no matterwhat your build is.
