As you playDune: Awakening, you can see how wide and open Arrakis is. Getting from one side of the map to the other can take a lot of time. When you have to deal with sandworms and sandstorms, time may not be on your side. You can find other means of navigating across the desert, but with fast travel, the world of Dune: Awakening becomes more manageable.
The good thing is that the MMO’s fast travel system is available almost right out of the gate. However, fast travel isn’t as straightforward as in other games and operates differently. To learn how to get around the desert planet, this guide will show you how to fast travel.
How To Fast Travel
When you progress through the game, you’ll be able to craft vehicleslike a sandbikeor a buggy, and later on, you can make an Ornithopter. So, you can traverse the brutal landscape in various ways.
Fast traveling in Dune: Awakening, as mentioned, makes things a lot easier. With that being said, due to the type of game the MMO is,the system isn’t something you can do on demand. You’ll need to interactwith certain NPCs.They can be hidden away quite well.If you’re not paying attention, you may walk right past them.
When you start the game, you’ll be inHagga Basin South. By completing the starting missions, they’ll eventually take you toGriffin’s Reach Tradingpost, located in themiddle of the region.
Upon entering the trading postfor the first time, a quest called A Wider World triggers. This will have youinteracting with the pilotat this location. They will be standing in theback right cornerin front of the projector of an Ornithopter.
Each trade post in every region should have an Ornithopter Pilot. So, you don’t need to go back to Griffin’s Post all the time to get the taxi service.
By talking to the pilot at the start of the game, there will be three options to pick from, which are:Arrakeen, Hagga Basin, andHarko Village. For the two main cities (Arrakeen and Harko Village), you’ll be payingabout 2,500 Solari.
Everything else, such as traveling to other smaller areas, may cost less.
You can also fast travel between Tradepost as long as you can afford the 700 Solari fee.
For Hagga Basin, the pilot might ask you to narrow down the places to travel to,which results in having no more dialogue options. To unlock areas in the Hagga Basin, simply travel to any place of interest. Afterward, it should appear on the pilot’s fast travel menu.
