As you traverse through the map of Mexico and Australia inDeath Stranding 2: On The Beach, you’ll spend most of your time picking up cargo from the ground and taking it to a specific station. While on your journey to deliver an item, there are a bunch of side bits that you can interact with to help yourself in the long run.
One of these mechanics is the collection of Chiral Crystals. There are many items you need in the game, but Chiral Crystals are single-handedly the most important one as they can help you both while being in your inventory and outside.
How To Get Chiral Crystals
The process of collecting Chiral Crystals isn’t particularly difficult, but they can be easy to miss. These crystalsspawn all over the map and resemble the shape of a golden hand on the ground. You can see their exact location while doing a scan of the area and looking around for a hand icon on the surface.
These crystals are essentially the remnants of BTs,which means that they’re a lot more common in areas where you find BTs. You’ll go through a bunch of these areasas you progress through the story, and it’s important to collect all the Chiral Crystals possible before you defeat the BTs here or move away from them.
Whenever you defeat a BT,they’ll spawn a Chiral Crystal on the ground. The bigger the BT, the more crystals you can get.
You can also find Tar pits across the map, especially after you reach Australia. These pits will also have a ton of Chiral Crystal hands in them, but they can damage your footwear quite a bit as well.
What To Do With Chiral Crystals
Unlike other general items like Metal in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach,Chiral Crystals can help you even while being in your inventory. Foreach 1,000cg of crystal that you possess, you may carry extra cargo worth one kg. However, their main use is when you reach a certain facility or build a structure in the wild.
Chiral Crystals can beused to fabricate a bunch of items and upgrade specific structures. They can also be donated to a particular station, whichadds them to the available resources that you can usein the area covered by that station. Chiral Crystals are an integral component when you’re trying to fabricate BT-related items like Blood Bags or Grenades.
It’s important to keepas many Chiral Crystals on your character as possibleto take advantage of the sweet weight increase.
You should be careful while using your Chiral Crystals on certain items, especially while upgrading structures. It’s recommended to only use these crystals for upgrades once the area is connected to the Chiral Networksince there’s a high chance that another player might’ve built the same facilityand upgraded it in that area. This will help you save some of your crystals.
