The Rite of the Nine event inDestiny 2has added adept loot to dungeons for the first time in franchise history. Guardians can delve into the Nine’s updated dungeons on Ultimatum difficulty to earn Adept weapons, including holofoil variants if you’re lucky. The fewer deaths your fireteam experiences throughout the encounter, the more perks will drop on your adept weapon.
Farming for the right adept weapon can take ages, especially with how difficult some of these dungeons can be. Thankfully, there are a few dungeon encounters you can farm with ease, either solo or with a full fireteam. Bring a good build, boot up Ultimatum difficulty, and farm these encounters to get yourself a stockpile of adept weapons.
Ghosts of the Deep
Encounter
Hive Ritual (Opening)
If you’re looking for quick adept weapon drops fromGhosts of the Deep, look no further than theHive Ritual opening encounter. It’s been tweaked in Rite of the Nine toonly require three runes, from four, which speeds up this encounter considerably. You’ll need to mind the sheer number of Lucent Moths in this encounter, but if you have a good add clear build with multiple sources of damage mitigation, you should be fine.
There’sno need for teammates here or cheesy strategies. You’re simply clearing the encounter as fast as you can without dying. Prismatic is ideal for all three classes, as you have access to Transcendence for an additional layer of DR and ability uptime. Hunters can lean towardsCombination Blowor Ascension spam; Titans can’t go wrong withConsecration, and Warlocks can use the recently buffedLightning Surgeto destroy the Hive. Just beware of the Moths.
Bring a Sword with the Eager Edge perk to speed up traversal during this encounter; it’s what you’ll spend most of your time doing.
Since this is Ghosts of the Deep, you’ll only receive weapons from this dungeon. If you’re looking for adept drops from other dungeons, you’ll need to farm other dungeons or use the loot chest in the Rite of the Nine hub.
First Traversal Section (After Opening)
If the exploding moths of the opening encounter are giving you trouble, you may also try thetraversal section after the first encounter. There’s a checkpoint about halfway through that will place your fireteam at the start of the seafloor section. Navigate as normal until you find the Lucent Hive miniboss. Kill the Hive Guardian, crush its Ghost, then loot the chest. This won’t wipe the checkpoint, allowing you to reboot the checkpoint and continuously farm the boss.
This takes about as long as the opening encounter if you’re clearing that efficiently. But if you’re struggling to kill moths or stay alive in the opening encounter, this strategy might prove easier for you. Bring a strong weapon to kill the Hive Guardian quickly, and you shouldn’t have any issues farming this solo.
Spire of the Watcher
Akelous (Second Encounter)
ForSpire of the Watcherloot, the easiest encounter is arguablyAkelous, the massive Harpy boss you find at the summit of the Seraph Tower. If you’re in a squad, have each player charge a pylon on the tower as you eliminate adds. When everyone’s ready, activate the fourth pylon to start the damage phase. A squad using Storm’s Keep on Striker Titan, some form of Radiant, andThe Queenbreakerwith Particle Reconstruction should be able to down Akelous in two phases.
If you’re aiming for a one-phase clear, have two players runThundercrashwithCuirass of the Falling Starand the No Limits Artifact perk. The third player should be a Warlock usingWell of RadianceandSanguine Alchemyfor optimal surge damage. Have everyone cast their ult once Akelous is vulnerable, then spamQueenbreakeruntil the boss dies.
