The Fantasy Finds DLC lets you send yourTwo Point Museumexperts on legendary quests, and that means they’ll need equipment. Mythical Gear are a special class of exhibit that can be equipped to staff members, granting them extra abilities to make their jobs easier.
There’s a bit of a give and take, since you can’t display Mythical Gear for guests to gawk at while your staff is wearing it, but used wisely these epic artifacts can be a powerful tool. Here’s everything you need to know about these impressively-named relics.
How To Equip Mythical Gear
All exhibits in the Mythical Gear subcategory can beequipped by any staff member. Each individual exhibit can be equipped by a single person, and each staff member can only have one piece of Mythical Gear equipped at a time.
Not every Mythical Gear will be useful to every staff member, but they can equip it anyway - be sure to think about who gets what!
Mythical Gear canonly be equipped while it’s on display in the museum. If it’s in Storage, then it’s no use. Once the item that you want to equip is placed in the museum, click on its display caseto open its information window. Under its Traits, you’ll see a button labeledChoose Staff- click there, then select which character you’d like to equip the Mythical Gear.
you’re able to unequip the exhibit by following the same process, butclicking the trash can next to the equipped character’s namein the item’s information panel. This will move the exhibit back to its display case.
Effects Of Equipping Mythical Gear
Each piece of Mythical Gear provides a different effect for the equipped character;see belowfor the complete list. However, as long as the item is equipped, there are a few key changes to its display case to keep in mind:
All Mythical Gear In Two Point Museum: Fantasy Finds
Below is a complete list of every Mythical Gear in the Fantasy Finds DLC, where to find them, and their effects when equipped. Note that, apart from the Bolt Buckle Boots and One-Eyed Lid, every Mythical Gear is Unique; only one of each can exist per museum.
Bolt Buckle Boots
Wishfell Village, Upside Town
+5 Dexterity. Greatly increases movement speed in the museum, but drains Energy.
Multiple copies can be useful for Security Guards pursuing thieves, or Janitors putting out fires.
Troll Bridge
+5 Luck. Increased field of view for Security Guards.
Having a few for your Security team can make it easier to catch criminals.
Useful for Janitors and Science Experts.
Wizard’s Chat
Archwise Rise
+15 Intelligence. The equipped character provides extra Knowledge to guests that they walk by.
The Woblin' Goblin
+15 Luck.
The Loot Lute is actuallybetter left unequipped, as its display case effect causes guests to leave bigger donations.
Plot Armour
Longrange Inn
+15 Agility. The equipped character gets hungry, thirsty, and tired much more slowly, and needs the bathroom less. The equipped charactercan never go MIAas long as they are wearing the Plot Armour.
Most MIA events can be countered in other ways, but the Plot Armour is useful for ensuring that your best employee is protected on dangerous expeditions.
Kingdom Crown
Mount Gloom
+20 Intelligence. The equipped character grants nearby guests a Happiness boost as they walk by.
The boost is small, only 5%, so it’s probably worth keeping the Crown in its case.
Fantasy Stats On Non-Fantasy Characters
A few locations in Scorched Earth allow non-Fantasy characters to tag along. On these expeditions, a non-Fantasy character equipped with Mythical Gearwill get the Fantasy Stat bonus from their equipment, even if they don’t actually have Fantasy Stats themselves.
For example, if you send a Supernatural Expert equipped with Nor’s Hammer, they’ll still contribute 15 Strength to the encounter, even though they don’t technically have a Strength score for the Hammer to enhance. That makes Mythical Gear all the more valuable for completing your collection of fantasy fish and goblin ghosts!
