Mario Kart Worldoffers a refreshing yet familiar experience, adding to the excellent chaos that is expected from this series, with a whopping 24 characters racing around the varied and complex tracks. Making items, course knowledge, and risk-taking all the more valuable if you want to secure a win. And that’s not even taking into play the new and exhilarating Knockout Tour mode.

This comes further into play if you’re gunning to earn three stars in every Grand Prix Cup and Knockout Tour, which isn’t nearly as easy as it sounds. However, with the new jumping system, there are excellent shortcuts and routes you can take that can help you gain a much-needed edge and come out on top!

How To Earn Three Stars In Grand Prix Mode

Grand Prixmode is a mode in Mario Kart World, which featureseight Cups in total, eachcomprising four tracks, for a total of32 tracksto race through. The ultimate goal is to finish at the top of the leaderboard and take home the respective Cup.

However, if you want toramp up the challengea bit more, you can alsoearn Stars when completing each Cup,which isbased on how many times you have finished in firstplace in each course. How to Earn Three Stars In Knockout Tour Mode

Now that you have all the Grand Prix Cups mastered with Three Stars across the board, it’s time to shift our focus to the brand newKnockout Tourmode, where you willcompete in eight different Rallies, all containingsix courseswithin them, for a massive48 courses in total.

To earnThree Stars in Knockout Tourmode, you mustfinish first across all six courses within a Rally, making it substantially harder than its Grand Prix counterpart. This is a brutal task, so you’ll need to bring your all if you’re looking to do it.

Unlike the Grand Prix mode, there isno point systemfor this mode. Instead, yourStars are distributed depending on how many courses you’ve finished first in,with one of them being the final checkpoint. If you don’t win it all, you won’t receive any Stars, so keep that in mind!

Like in Grand Prix mode, obtaining Three Stars at 150cc will retroactively grant you Three Stars to both 50cc and 100cc Engine Classes, so we recommend gunning for that if you want to get Three Stars for all Engine Classes anyway. However, don’t let this pressure you into diving into 150cc if you’re not quite ready for it yet, as you can always tackle it later!

Knockout Tour Three Star Tips

Knockout Tour is much more devious than any other mode in arguably the entire series, and that’s saying something.Blue Shells will be in play at any stageof the race, meaning they are still on the table when there are only four remaining racers left. It’s pure evil.

Combating this requiresgaining a significant lead early on and maintaining it.While that may sound overly obvious, it is much simpler than it sounds. Furthermore, you need tohold onto Mushrooms, Super Horns, Super Stars, and Food Itemswhen possible, as they will allow you to recover or evade the inevitable Blue Shell looking to slow you down.

To achieve this, we recommend exploring shortcuts and strategies for each course, asmastering unique wall ridesand rail grinds can provide the extra oomph you need to succeed. They won’t be easy to land, but practice will go a long way here, especially considering how hidden some of the shortcuts are!

Speed should be your focused Stat, followed by Acceleration, as youcan always adjust for Handling with track knowledge and driving betterthe more you play on them. Once you have your character, Kart, and everything else down, getting Three Stars in every Rally shouldn’t be too complicated. We hope!
