There are many ways to customize your ideal character inOblivion Remastered, including some methods of survival you might not be aware of. While you might be tempted touse Alteration magic so you can shield yourself from damage, including the elements, there’s another way to avoid all types of damage entirely.
However, if you’re willing to spend a good deal of your time journeying across Cyrodiil and spamming the jump button, then there’s another survival method. Luckily, you’ll likely unlock the dodging perk without issue if youkeep up with your Acrobatics training.
How To Unlock Dodging
The dodge mechanicis not available at the start of Oblivion Remastered, as you mustfirst reach level 25 in Acrobaticsto become anApprenticeof this skill.
Once you reach level 25 and gain Apprentice level,a pop-up will appear letting you know that you can now use the dodge mechanicto avoid damage in combat against enemies.
Thebest way to reach level 25 Acrobatics is by repeatedly jumpingacross an area, as each jump increases your Acrobatics skill.
This becomes much faster if you find an area with a low ceiling, as you’ll hit your head as you jump, then ricochet back down toward the ground, allowing you to initiate another jump quickly.
If you want to accelerate your Acrobatics advancement, falling and taking fall damage will slightly increase your Acrobaticsskill in addition to jumping.
Thus, the best Acrobatics farming loopyou can find should be jumping up to a ledge, then falling from the ledge to take damage, and repeating the process.
How To Dodge
Once you’ve unlocked the ability to dodge by attaining 25 Acrobatics, you can use the following button combinations to dodge, depending on your controller choice.
Xbox
LT + Y
Dodging is omnidirectional, which means you’re able to add a movement direction to your dodges, which will be followed, regardless of your character’s current direction.
Dodges can be used in or out of combat:
Whichever way you find it most useful to employ dodging, it’s clear that this ability is quite strong, given its prerequisite to unlock.
However, it’s important to rememberthat while dodging can help your Acrobatics, avoiding damageentirelywill prevent you from levelingup your Heavy Armor and Light Armor skills.
Since these skills only increase when you take damage while wearing the given type of armor, the better you get at dodging, the fewer levels these skills will accrue.
