Asthe Fighters Guild questlineinOblivion Remasteredwinds down, it’s time to begin the final quest in this epic tale: The Hist. Vilena Donton, the Fighters Guild Guildmaster, has been a difficult nut to crack, but if you pull this off and expose the Blackwood Company’s secret, you’ll finally convince her of the truth.
For now, you need to rendezvous with Modryn Oreyn as you collaborate on his plan to knock the Blackwood Company off its perch and restore the Fighters Guild to its former glory. Prepare for a fight, as this band of mercenaries won’t go down easily.
How To Start The Hist
Once you’vecompleted the Infiltration quest for Modryn Oreyn,you’ll have all the information needed to take down the Blackwood Company that has been stealing work from the Fighters Guild.
When you’re ready,speak to Modryn Oreyn at his home in Chorrol,where he will outline his plan for you.
How To Find & Destroy The Hist Tree
Modryn needs your help to destroy the Blackwood Company from the inside, sohead to the Blackwood Company Hall in Leyawiinto begin dismantling this nefarious group.
Come prepared with your best fighting gear and spells.
You won’t have long to breathe, asyou’re immediately intercepted by Ja’Fazirwhen you step into the hall, as he brands you as a spy and traitor to the Blackwood Company,initiating everyone inside to attack you.
Where To Find The Key To The Basement
Grab Jeetum-Ze’s key from Ja’Fazir’s bodyand head upstairs, where you’ll find Jeetum-Ze in his room.
Kill Jeetum-Zeand loot his body tofind the key to Ri’Zakar’s room,which is on thethird floorabove you.
Use the key toopen the door to Ri’Zakar’s room and slay him as well, this time finding theBlackwood Co. Basement Keyon his body.
Take this key and head downstairs, and look for thedoor to the basement on the first floor.
Destroying The Hist Tree
Inside the basement, you’ll find the giant Hist Treehooked up to a bunch of different mechanisms, which presumably extract the Hist Sap to be used by the Blackwood Company’s members.
Kill the two Argonianshere who are guarding the Hist Tree, leaving nothing left standing in your way.
They’re mages, so prepare to deal withtheir powerful Destruction spells.
Approach the table adjacent to the large furnace, and you’ll finda set of loose pipesthat you’re able to pick up.
Once you have these pipes,activate the Sap Pumps on both sidesof the tree to destroy each of the pumps.
Exit the basement, whereyou’ll be confronted by Maglir– the former Fighters Guild slacker whom you were always covering for. If you were annoyed at him, now is the time for your revenge.
Kill Maglirand loot his body for more goodies beforereturning to Modryn Oreynin Chorrol.
What Rewards Do You Get From The Hist?
When you share the news of the Blackwood Company’s downfall with Modryn, he will reward you with theHelm of Oreyn Bearclaw,which fortifiesAgility and Endurance by ten points.
Now, head back to the Fighters Guild hall and find Vilena Donton, who will confusingly strip you of your Champion Rank before coming to her senses andpromoting you to the new Master of the Fighters Guild,with Oreyn as your suggested right-hand man.
Tell Modryn the great news and recruit him to join you as the new leaders of the Fighters Guild.
