The third chapter ofRaidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Armyhas been pretty intense so far, and it’s about to culminate at Daidouji Factory with another face-off against the mysterious Dark Summoner, Rasputin. He summons a tough demon to fight in his stead, and it’s up to Raidou and his familiars to make it out alive.
The Chernobog boss battle that concludes chapter three of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is a tricky one if you’re not prepared, but our guide below has everything you’ll need to know to handle everything Chernobog throws your way.
Chernobog Location And Affinities
In the thick of the third chapter of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, you’ll be working your way towards the labyrinth puzzle inside of Daidouji Factory, freeing the trapped workers and battling scary snake demons on the way to collecting all three of the shards that will allow access to the main door you’re looking for back at Daidjou Factory.
Before you go back to the Daidouji Factory from this odd Dark Realm labyrinth, though, you may want to headgo back to the middle sectionof the puzzle, which you can do by interacting with one of the matryoshka dolls in the middle of the two lines of three. This is likely the closest way to a Dragon’s Fount, allowing you to save your game and head into the Goumaden to fuse and log new devils, as well as one of Nakisawame’s Tears, which offers a chance to heal Raidou and his familiars back to full health completely for free.
While you’re at the Goumaden, you’ll want to begin considering which demons you’ll want to bring into the Chernobog boss battle in chapter three ofRaidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army, for which you’ll want to consult Chernobog’s affinity chart.

Given that Chernobog isweak to Pyro Order magic, you’ll find this to be a somewhat challenging approach to the fight, since most of your strongest Pyro Order familiars are weak to ice, which Chernobog usesamplyduring the boss fight in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
While it’s a good idea to always keep some Pyro Order demons in your tubes, given their ability to use the Ignite Investigation Skill during the story chapters, it might be risky to use them here. One way to get around Chernobog continually using some very fierce ice magic is touse a Cryo Order demon yourselfin this battle.
While there are plenty of powerful ones you’ll be able to fuse in the Goumaden by this point in the story, there are plenty of Jack Frost demons available for confinement inside of the Daidoiji Factory, as well as at the Training Hall.
Cryo Order shikigami are typically able tonegate Cryo Order magicattacks, which render plenty ofChernobog’s toughest movescompletely useless against them during the boss fight. You’ll still be susceptible to its status effects, but preventing outright HP drain is always a good idea. Additionally, before you go, you’ll want to make sure you’ve got Raidou’sPyro Skill equippedin your Sword Skills slots in the main menu – your Pyro Order demons might take extra damage from Chernobog’s ice attacks, but Raidou won’t.
How To Defeat Chernobog
When you’ve solved the labyrinth puzzle and healed up as we suggested above, you’ll need to go back to the main portion of Daidouji Factory anduse the crystals you collected to break the seal on the doorall the way at the back of the matryoshka puzzle here. Inside, you’ll see an off-putting cutscene with Kiyoshi Daidouji and Rasputin, who is still tired of Raidou chasing him. As such, he summons a Chernobog demon for you to fight and makes his escape for the time being.
The Chernobog fight in Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army’s third chapter might take you a little while to complete, since Chernobog will refuse to fight you itself for the first portion of the fight. Instead,Chernobog summons copies of itselfwith reduced HP that will attackRaidou Kuzunoha XIVand his familiars long before the real Chernobog shows itself.
To be more specific, you’ll need to fend offeight fake Chernobogcopies when the battle begins at Daidouji Factory. These copies are still capable of using powerful ice magic, but they’re limited to the three-way spread versions. As such, you can carefully weave through these attacks as Raidou to follow up with your strong sword magic.
Be sure to keep an eye out for your Spirit Slash being charged, since this all-powerful move often clears a whole wave of the false Chernobog enemies in a single strike. Devil’s Bane is also helpful here, so listen for Gouto and watch for the buttons to appear on the devil you’re fighting – you’ll execute them immediately if they’re close enough to death.
These false Chernobogs come at Raidou in waves. First, you’ll be up againsttwo copiesto ease you into the battle, and then there are asubsequent two wavesof enemies,each of which contains three false demons. This brings the total to eight fake Chernobogs you’lll need to kill before reaching the real boss battle for the third chapter of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
Once you’ve handled the eight fakes, the real Chernobog will attack Raidou and his demons itself, and this fight is a bit trickier. Like we mentioned above, Chernobog has incrediblypowerful ice magicin its repertoire, and while the fakes only had the three-way ice moves, the real Chernobog has Mabufudyne as well in addition to the slew of moves the phonies could use, which deals heavy ice damage in a medium radius around the demon when cast. As such, the real Chernobog will put up one heck of a fight before it goes down, withtriple the HPof the fakes.
If you find yourself struggling to handle the real Chernobog with your Pyro Order demons, given their tandem weaknesses with the boss, it’s a good time toswitch to your own Pyro Order demonsto conserve some HP. With Pyro Skill equipped on Raidou for this battle, you can always fall back offensively with your demons and allow Raidou to strike Chernobog’s Pyro magic weakness instead.
If these demons are able to defend against ice while they lay on a heavy slurry of physical moves, Raidou will be able to stagger Chernobog by striking its weakness to fire magic with his Pyro Skill. After this, your demons can swoop in and lay on the physical damage to chip away at the real Chernobog’s HP meter and finish the boss battle for chapter three of Raidou Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army.
Unlike most demons, which require Raidou to grind for a few levels first, Chernobog immediately becomes available for fusion in the Goumaden following this battle.
