Revenge Of The Savage Planet is, overall, a fairly lighthearted game. It deals with what happens to, well, the whole universe with mass corporate control, but does it in a heavily satirised way. Yes, you have been laid off from your job after giving 100 years of it in cryo-sleep, but that doesn’t mean the game doesn’t try to lighten it up some.

Yet for how much Alta Interglobal has ruined your life, you’re not the only one. In fact, this entire star system was built around another person’s life who was made so incredibly lonely by this corporation. And with n oother sentient life to take it out on, Slappi chooses you as his new victim. And he has had the time to prepare for your arrival.

The mecha slappi boss being introduced in revenge of the savage planet.

Where Is Mecha Slappi Fought?

Throughout the story of Revenge of the Savage Planet, which is admittedly more a pretext to explore these planets, you will come to explore four very distinct planets. However, there is rather distinctly one that you do not visit through the regular progression of the plot. In fact, you can end the game entirely before every going there and meeting Slappi.

So how do you get there? Well, you have tocomplete all the shrines and research the Pentaforce. This will unlock this hidden planet, Slappi’s Den of Fun, which really isn’t much of a planet at all, and lead to your final encounter with Slappi in a more beefed-up form than his diminutive frame would betray.

Outside of a few Scannables, there aren’t any missable collectibleson this final planet.

How To Beat Mecha Slappi

Like all the other bosses in the game,Mecha Slappi has multiple phasesyou must fight through. For the most part, you battle him the same way. It is him that changes up his moveset more, and the arena changing alongside it.

Phase One

The first phase is nice and easy.Mecha Slappi is positioned on the stage while you are in the arena. you may’t directly reach Slappi, so attacking from afar is your only option. To that end, there is a multitude of Bombegranates, Acid Bombs, and healing stations positioned around the arena. They do recharge, but slowly, so only use them when necessary.

You will be relying on Bombegranates and Acid Bombs in this fight, so make sure you havethe upgrade that lets you hold them in your inventory.

Slappi will fire many lasers at you during this section, though they aren’t too difficult to avoid. Justfocus your throwable items and Charged Shots on himto make it through this section easily.

Phase Two

Phase two is a big shift, and calls back to some of Slappi’s earlier Shrines. For the rest of the fight,he will surround himself with an energy shieldthat can only be taken down by certain actions. They are as follows:

He will cycle between each colour as one is taken down, and it may take quite a while before they are all destroyed. Once they are,you can damage him again in the same way as you could in the original phase.

However, this isn’t the only new challenge. Sections of the arena will fall away, revealing lava beneath.Weaker enemies will also appear periodicallyto make focusing on Mecha Slappi that much harder. Slappi himself gets a few new moves as well, such as a barrage of rockets. This will be clearly marked, so just make sure not to fall into the lava while dodging them.

Phase Three

In the final phase, which Mecha Slappi very kindly announces, he decides to up the number of guns he has. The arena stays the same, but his firepower increases dramatically. He has his typical guns on his arms, though now gainsanother pair on his legs, and shoulder cannons, too. It’s a bit overkill, but that’s expected of the final boss.

This gives him many new moves, such as being able to combo his arm guns into another barrage of lasers from his feet. The shoulder cannons also fire a volley of tracking lasers, though they’re not too hard to avoid as long as you keep moving. You just have to keep constantly on the move during this section.

However, even with the shields gone, Slappi’s body seems impervious to damage. So how should you damage him now? By destroying each of his guns. All of them can be targeted individually, with each destroyed weapon taking away a chunk of health and disabling its associated attack. And that’s all there is to this phase. you’re able to remove the worst of the new moves basically immediately.

Once Slappi is finally defeated, you’re done. Now watch the credits roll and relax.
