InDune: Awakening, players explore the deserts of Arrakis, gather resources, build up strongholds, and engage in intense PvP wars. The game’s persistent world encourages large-scale play, but it also provides avenues for players who prefer more private experiences with their partners.
If you’re looking to create a more controlled environment for you and your friends, renting a private server is the way to go. Unlike most PC run private servers, Dune: Awakening requires you to rent servers through official hosting partners. We’ll cover what you need to know to set up your private server in the game.
What Is A Private Server In Dune: Awakening?
Unlike many other games in the survival genre, Dune: Awakeningdoes not allow players to host private serversdirectly on their own PCs. Instead, you mustrent a serverthrough an approved hosting provider.
When you set up a private server, the onlyregion that is truly private and customizable is theHagga Basinmap. Hubs and the Deep Desert are shared with other private servers.Only those who have thepassword to your servercan enter Hagga Basin, where you’ll build, harvest spice, and face PvP (if enabled).
While your basin connects to the shared world in some areas, this is the space you actually own and shape.
Shared zones aren’t owned or managed by players. Instead, they’remaintained by the hosting providerto ensure every server in the World has access.
you’re able to freely hop between shared zones using theserver selection menu, and enter another server by entering its password if you have it.Your character, gear, and progress carry over, and unlike on official servers, you can even claim land on the one you visit.
When you visit a new private server, you’ll spawn at theGriffin’s Reachtrade post, ready to explore and interact just like you would on your home server.
Private Server Details And Restrictions
Private, rented servers offersome customization, despite being less flexible than Funcom’s Conan Exiles or other survival MMOs. Instead, the game uses ahybrid systemthat gives communities control over select settings while keeping them connected to the broader multiplayer world.
This balance ensures a private experiencewithout losing the social and dynamic elementsof an MMO.
Disable or customize PvP pockets within Hagga Basin

Turn servertaxes on or offfor shields/building costs.
No tweaking of the broader economy, vendor pricing, or resource yield.
Cannot adjust the climate or weather outside your basin.
Shared sectors remain global and unaffected by your basin settings.
Cross-Server Travel

Cannot visit official public servers, only other private basins in your World.
Land Claiming

Cannot transferbases or buildingsbetween different Worlds.
If you cancel your World, your character andprogress are erased.

Keep in mind that private servers currently donot include an admin control panel, and permanent character transfers between Worlds are not supported at this time.
