As you explore the world inRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, you’ll come across more side quests than you may count. While many will be from NPCs and the Ema Boards in your villages, some will stand out a bit more in uniqueness and what they request of you.

A signpost at the entrance to the Summer Region alerts you to the Sage of Sweets, a curious individual who can be found by travelling to Bamboo Island in the sky. This quest has you crafting all sorts of sweet treats for a prestigious title and plenty of other yummy rewards.

How To Start The Sage Of Sweets

This quest can be started as soon as yougain access to flying, which happens once you’ve finished the first story quests at Spring Village.

Once you have the ability to fly,head to Bamboo Island, which is just to the west of Summer Village. Here, you canspeak to an NPC outside a small hutand be told about the sweet treat competition.

This quest requires that youcraft certain items, often to a specific quality level, and then submit them to the Housekeeper who resides outside the wooden hut.

How To Complete The Sage Of Sweets

There are six stages to this quest, each requiring that you craft a certain item.

Butter x1

Honey x1

Ice Cream x1

Bread Loaves, Butter, and Ice Cream must be cooked separately or found in the wild. If you need ingredients, though, they can be purchased from any Teahouse you place in a Village.

Honey is obtained by defeating bee-type enemies, with the first appearing at the Forgotten Grove.

Sweet Potatoes x1

Sugar x1

Sweet Potatoes can be grown in one of your farms, and Sugar is obtained from a Sugar Refinery, which can be built by Takumi.

The key to getting a higher-level dish is using higher-level Sweet Potatoes. To get higher-level Sweet Potato seeds, use the Sacred Sword on fully-grown Sweet Potato plants for a chance of harvesting better seeds.

Eggs x1

Flour x1

Milk x1

All of these ingredients are common and easily purchased, but the key to cooking a higher-level Honey Castella Cake is using higher-level ingredients. you may find better Eggs, Honey, and Milk by killing higher-level Cluckadoodle, Bee, and Buffamoo-type enemies.

Strawberries x1

As with previous dishes, you’ll need higher-level and better quality ingredients to hit Level 3 here. You can use the Sacred Sword method on the Strawberries, and ensure you’re using the best Milk from the most difficult Buffamoo enemies you have access to to complete this.

Matcha x1

Pink Melons x1

Like Rice Flour, Matcha is bought at Iroha’s shop. To increase the level of this dish, you’ll need to use Pink Melons that are at least Level 4. This will certainly require a few cycles of increasing the level of your crops using the Sacred Sword method.

Once you’ve submitted the Tri-Color Dango of the sufficient level, you’ll complete the quest. This will earn you the following rewards:
