InDune: Awakening, once you’ve unlocked a class’s skill tree, there are advanced trainers everywhere on Arrakis who can help you unlock the next set of skills and beyond. To do this, you’ll need to first locate these trainers and then complete an introductory contract for them. From there, you can complete additional contracts to earn more skills.

Trooper is a great class in Dune: Awakening, which is bolstered by even better advanced skills. Most combat in Awakening is ranged, so you’ll want to build out this skill tree. So, here’s where to find the advanced trooper trainer and unlock their training in Dune: Awakening.

How To Start The Advanced Trooper Quest

To begin the advanced trooper quest, you’ll first need tounlock the trooper skill treeif you haven’t already.

you may do this byheading to Griffin’s Reachandspeaking to the trainer there.

From there,head to Arrakeen to find the advanced trooper, a woman named Kara.

You can find heron the second floor of Arrakeen, standing in front of a set of engraved doors with a suspensor light floating above her.

Simplytalk to Karato trigger the advanced trooper quest.

The dialogue tree with Kara is quite long, asshe’ll try to deny your requestfor training. Just keep selecting options that perpetuate the conversation, andeventually, she’ll give you a contract.

How To Find The Transmitters

The first leg of Kara’s quest is tofind some transmittersfor her that will help fuel her Semuta habit. She’llmark a location of a slaver’s basecalled the Sweep just north of the Eastern Vermillius Gap.

Infiltrating The Sweep

Head to the locationand enter the base. There are a ton of enemies in here, so ensure you’re prepared for some decent combat.

Head to the top floor of the base, andlook for the open booknext to a lamp on the table. Read this to gain intel on the transmitters.

If you don’t have a Holtzman Shield already,this is a good time to research and fabricate onebefore heading out for this quest.

Return To Kara

From there,you’ll find two transmitters on various enemies in the base, so take everyone out and loot their bodies until you find the transmitters.

You’ll then need toreturn the transmitters to Karain Arrakeen.

Completing this quest in its entiretyrequires multiple trips back and forth to Arrakeen.

So, verify you either have an ornithopter of your own to get you back and forth, or that you have plenty of Solari for the trip.

How To Find Tuco

Sadly, when you return to Arrakeen, you may soon discover thatthe transmitters don’t work for Kara, and you’llneed to find ones that actually workthrough a contact of hers: Tuco.

Harko Village

From here, you’ll have togo to Harko Village to attempt to meet with Tuco. Kara will explain that, if Tuco doesn’t show up, the bartender at Hannivar’s should know where he is.

Before you leave,make a note of the passphrase that Kara gives youto speak to the bartender at Hannivar’s.

The dialogue option will appear automatically once you’ve triggered this quest, but you’ll need to remember to actually click the right phrase to progress the quest.

Head to Harko Village andhead to the point marked on your map, which is toward the back of the town square.Tuco won’t show up, so you’ll need to head to Hannivar’s to continue the quest.

Hannivar’s

Head to Hannivar’s, which will be marked on your map, andspeak with Anoushka, the dark-haired woman behind the bar.

Give her the passphrase Kara gave youand ask about Tuco. She’ll explain thatyou need his coordinatesfrom a ledger in the back room.

Head to the point marked on your map in Hannivar’sand read the book.

Before heading back to Arrakis, it’s worth noting thatyou can also find the advanced swordmaster in Harko Villageand begin that quest as well.

Then,return to Anoushka, and she’ll show you on your mapwhere to find Tuco.

Finding Tuco

For the last leg of this quest, you’ll need tofind Tuco’s stash. You’ll find the stash on thewest side of Jabal Eifrit, marked on your map.

Before heading out, verify you’ve fabricated either aVehicle Resource Scanner or a Handheld Resource Scanner, asyou’ll need one of theseto complete the quest.

Once you arrive at the stash,you’ll discover that Tuco is gone, as is his stash.

Use your Resource Scanner andscan the area.

This will reveal a set of footprintsheading into the Hagga Rift, and reveal a new quest location marker on your map.

The Hagga Rift

Tuco is a little hard to find in the Hagga Rift, asthe quest marker isn’t necessarily all that helpful.

Instead of following the quest marker,head to CHOAM Mineral Extraction Facility #6(which you can reveal using a Survey Probe).

Enter the facilityand take out the enemies inside. From there,you’ll see a radiation zone. If you have a Holtzman Shield or a radiation suit, equip it now.

If you don’t have either a Holtzman Shield or a radiation suit, justbe quick about finding Tuco inside to avoid radiation.

Head inside the radiation zone, and look forthe crashed sandbike and the hanging body.

This is Tucoand what remains of his stash. Simplyinteract with the body, and then return to Karato complete the advanced trooper quest.

Once you’ve completed this quest, Kara will train you with additional contracts, allowing you to improve your trooper skills further.
