The Zelator Underground Facility Stargazer
You’ll find an Attribute Resistance Ampoule beside the corpse of the Alchemist, then, you’ll grab the Monad Family’s Master Key from the bar door. Star Fragment and Shot Put in the icy mist below. You can jump down there and get them if you like, butyou are going to clear that stuff out later, and you’ll want to come back anyway, so, you can just grab them when you swing back around later.
Either way, head up the stairs, pass by the Black Rabbit Key door, and circle around to the end of the upper floor where you will find a Special Purification Ampoule. Hop down, and head through the tunnel next to the Stargazer, and there will be two mutants -one is hiding behind the stack of boxes. After clearing them out, pick up the Fire Abrasive that is sitting next to the boxes. Shortly after dispatching them, you will be confronted by a spear-wielding foe. Once you take a left, you will be in a hallway withanothertwo mutants andanotherspear-wielder.
These spear users have a number of thrusting attacks, and they can cause you to burn up. However, they can be backstabbed, and their linear thrusts make them easy to circle. So, take advantage, circle them, and backstab them.
How To Unlock The First Shortcut Back To The Zelator Underground Facility Stargazer
Continue forward into a large pipe, there’s a Legion Magazine to your left. Follow this narrow corridor until you hit an intersection. To your left is a mutant who will spew an icy projectile your way. So, turn the corner, roll through it, and take them out. There are two more in this area. Head up the ramp to get a Half Moonstone, then head back down, take a right, and head straight. You will travel up a ramp, turn 180 degrees, grab the Anti-Freeze Ampoule, and unlock the shortcut. From here, turn back around and head down the hallway.
You will travel down a series of ramps before entering a room where a mutant is facing the wall. Watch out, there isanother mutant to your left looking to ambush you. Grab the Fable Catalyst once you clear the room. Keep heading down the hallway and you’ll encounter two more foes. One is the regular mutant, and the other is a new enemy type who wears a straitjacket.
These straitjacket foes aren’t tough if you swarm them. However, if you give them a moment to collect themselves, they whip you with far-reaching tendrils that come from their head.
In the next room, there is a Fable Catalyst to your left, and a Vivid Ergo Chunk straight ahead. But watch out,an enemy will drop on you from aboveas you go for the Ergo Chunk. you’re able to shoot them down with your bow or a Legion Arm, though. Climb down the nearby ladder, and head into the pipe behind the ladder to find a Technique Crank. Now, head down the other pipe and you’ll fight another straitjacket-wearing foe.But don’t enter the next area yet, as it is a big trap.
Once you leave the pipe you will get absolutely shredded by a mutant sitting above you to the right. It fires a stream of projectiles, and if you get caught off guard it could very well be the death of you. So, instead of fighting the two crawling zombies, sprint forward out of the pipe and get to the other side of the room. That way you will be safe from the projectiles.
There is an Attribute Resistance Ampoule sitting on a pile of corpses. You can run back in, grab it, and then sprint away again.
Once on the other side, you can follow a tunnel around and up.Enter the cell in the corner of this room, and you can get to that mutant with the gatling-like projectile fire. They aren’t so tough when you are nose to nose, so cut them down. Now, climb the ladder, and kill the scorpion-like mutant. Exit this cell, and you will find a spear-wielding alchemist patrolling the area. Once you kill him, grab the Hidden Moonstone. There is also Thermite in the corner near another mutant.
The next area is patrolled by another spear-user. But watch out, there are mutants clinging to the ceiling, waiting to drop on top of you. So, shoot them down before you enter this next stretch. After clearing them out, enter the cell on your right, there are two more projectile-throwing mutants and another regular mutant, and hop down the hole. Kill two more mutants andget the Tenacious Amulet from the chest.
How To Unlock The Elevator Shortcut Back To The Zelator Underground Facility Stargazer
There is a Crumpled Interrogation Log inside a cell. If you cross the bridge and take a left, you will enter a cell with an elevator inside. Break through the false wall, and you will find a dead Alchemist. Take the elevator down, and you’ll be taken to a room with the Sweeper Survivor. Speak to them, thengrab the Frost-Covered Instructions from the nearby table, and the Legion Amulet from a nearby chest. Finally, open the doors to reveal a shortcut back to the Zelator Underground Facility Stargazer. Now head back down the elevator.
The cell beside the one with the elevator has more mutants, an Anti-Freeze Ampoule on the bed, and a hole to jump down. Jump into that hole, and you’ll be in a cell with another mutant as well as an Attribute Purification Ampoule, and another hole.Don’t jump down into that next hole yet;instead, break through the rubble blocking the cell door.
Once you break through the rubble, you’ll be facing another one of those mutants that fires a stream of projectiles. Rush them. Then, once a trio of mutants drops down into the arena, retreat back to the cell you came from- the mutants will follow you. You will now be able to battle the mutants without having to worry about any projectile fire. Once you kill them, finish off that spitting foe. You will get a Star Fragment once you kill it.
Head up the ladder, and kill the spear-wielder, then grab the Dark Moon Moonstone of the Covenant that is lying on the ground nearby. Enter the nearby cell, jump down the hole, and another mutant will smash through the wall. Killing it will get you an Acid Canister and a Resplendent Ergo Fragment. Open the chest inside the cell that creature came from, andyou will get the Puppet of the Future’s Welder Blade, Puppet of the Future’s Welder Handle.
I wish I could give you hints on how to beat this foe, but I just stabbed him multiple times and he died. He never even got a hit in. Since he doesn’t respawn, I can’t tell you exactly what hedoes. I will say this, rushing him with a reasonably quick weapon worked wonders for me.
Head back into that cell, jump down into the hole, and you’ll be in a room with a standard mutant on your left, and a projectile-throwing mutant on your right. They are hiding behind pillars. Take them out, then grab the Radiant Ergo Chunk and the Sawtoothed Wheel.A pink butterfly will materializeclose to where the standard mutant was. Kill it to get the Full Moonstone of the Covenant.
Head up the earthen ramp in the corner of the room, and you will be in a cell with a Half Moonstone sitting under a corpse pinned to the wall. Leave this cell, and you will fight an Ironball-Wielding Miniboss.
How To Beat The Ironball-Wielding Mutant Miniboss
This foe hits extremely hard. They are also deceptively fast, closing distance at a moment’s notice. There are two attack sequences you will want to look out for…
The four-hit combo that ends with the furious attack is this mutant’sfavoritesequence. Successfully parrying the final hit will cause him to stumble, and give you a chance to dish out some damage. This fight isn’t hard, as the timing of these attacks is fairly easy to master. However, this guy does deal a substantial amount of damage, so, every parry will force you to stare death in the face.Just make sure you heal back to full whenever you are clipped.
Killing this minibosswill reward you with the Workshop Union Finished Cartridge. Hit the switch to open the gate and enter the next area. Head straight and you will get an Advance Crank.
Head forward, andyou will unlock the Security Area Stargazer. You will now be at one of those famous Souls-like falling platforming sections. Save up, use your Ergo, and prepare to fallstrategically.
The Security Area Stargazer
In this area, there will be spurts of freezing mist spewing out of the pipes as you fall. However, once you defeat the boss of this area, this will subside. So, if you are finding it frustrating trying to collect all the goodies while avoiding that mist, feel free to skip them for now and come back after you’ve killed the boss.
Head forward from the Stargazer, and leap down to the level below. There is a straitjacket-wearing mutant here. Kill them and then grab the Throwing Cell. Cross the beam, grab the Fire Canister, then drop down to the next beam. Time the frost burst, grab Gemini’s Enhanced Detection, and drop downonto the wooden platform on your right. There is a Half Moonstone here. Watch out, a projectile-throwing mutant is hiding in the pipe.
Continue down that pipe, there are two more mutants at the next intersection (one to your right, one to your left). After clearing them out, pick up the Cat Dust. Head down the pipe, there will bean Ancient Disk on your left. At the end of the pipe, jump down, and you will be back on the grating, across from where you entered the pipe in the first place.
Head down, and once you encounter it, cross the next beam. On your right, there will be Dark Moon Moonstone of the Covenant beside some boxes. Look for a nearby ladder, drop down and kill the mutant below, and then grab theBlack Rabbit Hole Key. Now, head back up, climb back onto that beam, and jump into the pipe at the end of it.
For more info on the Black Rabbit keys, and a complete breakdown of where to find them all, check out our complete guide on Black Rabbit Keys here.
Once in the pipe, grab the Anti-Freeze Ampoule. Prepare tododge an ice projectile from the mutant at the end of this pipe. There is another projectile-spitting mutant around the corner as well. Watch out, another mutant is to the left of them, ready to ambush you. Once you kill them, pick up Gemini’s Emergency Protection. Follow the pipe down, and you will be back in the falling puzzle area - you are close to the bottom now.
Jump down to the right of the pipe, and then onto the mutant below. Now, follow the pipe next to them. This will take you to the Coolant Control Room Stargazer. The next room is where you will face off against the boss: Veronique.
For a complete breakdown of how to beat Veronique, follow our complete boss guide here.
Where To Find All The Hidden Items After Killing Veronique
With the freezing mist cleared, head back to the Zelator Underground Facility Stargazer.Open the locked doors above with your Black Rabbit key. Open the safe to get The Eldest’s Gas Mask and the Black Death Protective Apparel. Hop down into the area below and open the large doors.
There are three mutants here; The straitjacket variant is hiding to the right. In the safe you’ll find a Legion Caliberand on the bed is a Resplendent Ergo Chunk. Now, head back to the room that was previously enshrouded in mist. Head through the empty pipe, and kill the three ice-projectile firing mutants. Head into the next pipe and drop down.
You will now be in a room where you can head forward and move up a set of stairs or head to your right and go down a set of stairs. Take the right, kill the two scorpion-tailed mutants, and then chase after thethree butterflies that will appear in the center of the room. Once you get all three, you will earn an Ancient Disc. Now, backtrack and head up the stairs. There will be an Alchemist with a freeze gun and a spear-wielding mutant. You should havejustenough time to take out the Alchemist before the spear-wielder arrives.
The next room has two mutants and another Alchemist with a freeze-gun. Take them out while backing up into the room you came from. That way you won’t have to worry about getting shot in the back. There is another Alchemist up the stairs, take them out, then jump down and kill the mutant in the cell. You’ll find a Dim Ergo Chunk in here. In the next area, there is a ladder to your left and stairs to your right.
Go up that ladder first. There is a Shot Put up here, andyou will open a shortcutthat will lead you back to the main area. Slide back down that ladder, and go down the stairs: you will find yourself in a room with aparticularlybig and nasty mutant.
How To Beat The Dualwielding Mutant Miniboss
This biggish baddie has three attacks…
As you fight this guy, you will have to face off against two mutants. Take them out quickly when they appear so that you don’t end up cornering yourself. As for the boss, if youparry his rolling attack twice, he will take a knee. Similarly, you can stun him pretty quickly by blocking his four-hit combo followed by the furious attack.
That being said, outside his rolling attack, he doesn’t have any attacks that are great at chasing you down, soyou can just keep away from him and attack with a far-reaching weaponafter each of his attack sequences. Looking to parry his rolls, then keeping away, is a solid option.
If you miss the parry timing, the rolling attack doesn’t dothatmuch damage, so the stakes aren’t that high.
Once you defeat the miniboss, plunder the room he is guarding toobtain the La Vendetta Head and La Vendetta Body from the chest. There is also a News Clipping on the nearby table. Now, head back the way you came, and go up the ladder, and head through the shortcut. You are just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Zelator Underground Facility Stargazer. Head back to it, thenteleport to the Coolant Control Room Stargazerand you can head to thenextstage.
