In the world ofTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you will find a number of tools. Each will allow you to perform tasks that will yield treasures and open paths. Want to dig up treasure? Get a shovel. Want to mine ore? Get a pickaxe. However, things get a little funky once you need wood.

Will you need a Woodcutter’s Axe? Absolutely. But you aren’t going to be chopping down trees. Instead, you’ll need to find specific points where you’ll be able to use your trusty axe. We’ll take you through all of this and get you gathering wood in no time!

How To Get The Woodcutting Axe

From the beach, you are going to follow the road west. When you hit the forking path, travel north, and you’ll end up inthe Ruined Market Square, where you’ll be surrounded by hostile villagers. Among them is a man with an axe, which is exactly what you’ll need to go chop wood.

The villager in question can be foundsoutheast of the massive corpse in the centerof the Ruined Market Square. He is hanging out inside a ruined building. Once you kill him, you’ll be able to grab his axe. Easy-peasy, right? Well, maybe not. Because, as we alluded to in the intro to this guide, having the axe is onlyhalfof the problem. Now we need to find a place togetwood.

If you don’t want to fight the bandits located in the Ruined Market Square, you can also purchase a Woodcutting Axe in the Horns of the South town. From the entrance, take a left, and speak to Orlaith. After she finishes ranting a little, you’ll be able to purchase items from her shop. The Woodcutting axe will cost you 16 gold.

How Do I Chop Trees Down?

Well, the answer to this question is that you don’t. Surprisingly, you can’t use the Woodcutting Axe to fell trees. Instead,you need to find specific Lumbering locations.These look like a stump with a number of partially chopped logs placed around them. Unfortunately, these are few and far between. The easiest Lumbering location to access is the one in the Horns of the South. This city iswest of the beach you wash up on. There is a trail that leads west close to the wrecked ship. Once you find it, follow it all the way to the Horns of the South.

Once you arrive at the Horns of the South, show the guard the pin Caradac gave you, and you’ll gain entry. Now, head to thesouthwest corner of the city. You should find the lumbering spot here. Now you can chop wood to your heart’s content. Once the Lumbering spot runs out of wood, just come back later, orrest nearby, and it will replenish after 24 hours.
