It’s your job to take down the entities and people behind the Megacorps inNeon Abyss 2, but to get to the actual leaders of the organization, you’ll need to defeat the first two mechanical monstrosities, Talon and Talos AI. Trojan is the first major boss, and it represents a significant step up from everything you’ve faced before.

With tons of projectiles and dangerously sharp tentacles at its disposal, Trojan is engineered to keep you out, and it will try with all its might to do so. If you don’t, it’s back to the bar, and the Megacorps continue to succeed at everyone else’s expense.

How To Beat Trojan

Trojan is thefirst major Targetyou’ll need to defeat tounlock deeper floors in the Abyssand all the later bosses, and it’sencountered on Floor Five.

Itintroduces more significant bullet-hell mechanicsthan any of the prior enemies, and it hasthree phases: Phase One at 100 percent health, Phase Two starting at 75 percent health, and Phase Three starting at around 30 percent health.

If you want to have abetter chance of seeing new Weapons or dislike the Agent’s base guns, you may equip the X Fate Card from the Statue Of Fate, which gives you an additional Weapon upon startingthe run.

Phase One

Phase One is the easiest part of Trojan’s battle, and it starts as soon as the fight begins. Trojan itself will disappear, and you’ll need tokill the four enemies it’s summonedinto battle.

Take out theenemies with the red wires first, as they do themost damageand theirprojectile spread can be annoying, then kill the other two, andTrojan will return to the arena, and the fight truly begins.

Trojan will start shooting waves of bullets at you in a tight pattern, and thebest placeto stand is thecenter platform. You’ll have enough space to weave in between the projectiles while still getting a perfect angle to keep attacking them.

Theprojectile spread will swap after several seconds, and will heavilyaim for the upper platformswhile the entiregroup of projectiles rotates, so thecenter platform is still the best placeto stand and keep you out of harm’s way.

Phase Two

Once Trojan reaches75 percent Health or lower, it will transform, removing its hood and disconnecting from the upper part of the screen. Trojan will start shooting projectiles in two waves of three toward the center platform, so transition to either of the upper platforms.

At around50 percent Health, it will startmoving back and forthacross the screen while shootingprojectiles in a circular pattern again, like Phase One.

It will alsostart attacking with its tentacles, which have a prettymassive hitbox, but theydon’t track your positionand briefly flashred before they strike.

Once the circular pattern starts, move back to the center platform, as it’s still thebest place to avoid the projectilesand still have someroom to avoid the tentacles.

Phase Three

At around30 percent health, Trojan willenter its final phaseandreturn to the upper centerpart of the screen. It willstill be vulnerable to attack, but now it willattack you with smaller tentacles.

Thesecome down every few seconds, and while these dotrack your movement, you’ll see aline of ones and zeroes where the tentacles will stab, so you’ll have a few moments to avoid them.

Keep moving during this phase, trying togo solely in one directionso youdon’t get caught being tentacles, and finish off Trojan. Upon its defeat, you’llget another Artifact as a rewardand aportal to the Blackdog Safehouse.

What Is The Safehouse?

The Safehouse is amidpoint between the fifth floor and the seventh floor, and gives you a break in between the floors. Themost important aspectof it is thefour containers on the right sideof the screen.

There’sone for Bombs, Keys, Coins, and Hatchmon Eggs, and you canstore items in them, with amaximum of ten Bombs, Keys, and Hatchmon Eggsable to be stored in theirrespective containers, and up to100 Coins in the Coin container, stored in groups of ten.

Whatever you’ve stored here will beavailable each time you reach the Safehousebetween runs, andwon’t disappear unless you take the items back out, so you canuse them to ensure you’ve got a decent supplyof items going into deeper floors if you canafford the investment.
