When you first startTainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you’ll find that there are several other prisoners kept in the cells around you. Explore the island is well worth the effort, as there are plenty of secrets to find and loot to collect. In addition to these collectibles, you’ll also find a mini-boss called the Frantic Berserker.
If you don’t know where to look, you can easily miss him. Thankfully, we’ve located him and detailed how to defeat him below so you can claim some great starting equipment before braving the shores of Avalon. Here’s where to find him!
Where To Find The Frantic Berserker
Before leaving the Island Asylum, you’ll want totake on the Frantic Berserkerfor some additional experience and gear. You can find him within the prison, locked away in a cell punching a wall.
To reach his cell, you’ll need toenter the room below the bridge,where several Red Priests await. Dispatch them quickly if Caradoc hasn’t gotten to them yet, thenhead down the path through the archwayto a pit.
Leap into the pitto find a hoard of bodies, then turn around anduse a lockpick to open the sealed doorbehind you. Head into the tunnel tofind the Frantic Berserker’s cell.
If you didn’t start out asa stealth build characterand don’t have a lockpick, you’re able to search the kitchen area by your cell for a few.
How To Defeat The Frantic Berserker
There aretwo ways to go about thisfight. You canopen the cell door with a keyand fight him directly, which is not advised if you haven’t found any gear yet, or you canclimb along the rocks to an alcoveoverlooking the cell area.
If you havemagic or found a bow and some arrows, this is the perfect place to practice your skills. The cell acts as a pen for the Frantic Berserker, sohe can’t get out or reach youif youstand on the ledge.
Regardless of how you enter,a cutscene will playthat introduces you to this fearsome fist-wielding foe.
However, you can alsogain experience by practicing evasionup close. Hop down into the Frantic Berserker’s cell and prepare for a fist fight. Thankfully, hedoesn’t have any weapons, but thehelm he wears will deal damage to youevery time you hit him.
Keep moving in circlesto stay out of reach while close enough tostrike when his defenses are down.He won’t take long to beat, and once he’s gone, you cancollect two rare items.
The Thorn Helmetgrants you two armor points whilereturning five points of physical damageback onto your attacker when their melee attacks land. Additionally, theAthlete’s Pride ringwill increase yourmax stamina by five.
No matter what your playstyle is, these aregood items to have until you get better gearoutside the Island Asylum.
