While you might spend most of your time inShadow Labyrinthgoing around different rooms in a certain area, the end goal is always to beat the final boss of that area and progress the story. However, this can sometimes be very difficult, especially when it comes to bosses with unique mechanics like Jupiclops.
As soon as the Jupiclops boss fight starts, you’ll notice that you’re able to’t directly hit the boss. You have to take some specific steps while dodging a constant barrage of attacks to get a chance to hit this boss, which is a fierce test of your patience.
Where To Find Jupiclops
As mentioned above, Jupiclops is one of the main bosses of Shadow Labyrinth, which means thatyou can’t keep fighting it once it’s defeated. However, to fight it for the first time, you’ll have to make the journey to the very top of the Giant Black Tower, which alreadyrequires you to beat a few bossesfirst.
As you enter the Giant Black Tower, your task is to find a red and a blue power system to power the elevators of the respective color, which first requires you to find a key card for door number one. Once you’ve met all these conditions, you can ascend in the tower and move to the right to find the boss.
If you get defeated and respawn on the Miku Sol near the middle of the Giant Black Tower, you cansimply take three elevators to reach the boss again.
The first elevator will be to the left of the checkpoint, leading you into the red and then the yellow elevator.
Jupiclops First Phase Fight Guide
Once you trigger the Jupiclops fight, it can be divided into three different phases based on the HP bar at the bottom. Thefirst phase roughly lasts until the boss reaches the 60 percent HP threshold. This is the easiest phase as it only features a couple of attacks:
In this phase, when you see the boss descending to one side of the battlefield, it’s recommended to come to the middle. After that, wait for it to get close and dodge through its body. Make sure you keep an eye on it after the first dodge in case it sweeps again. you’re able to stay roughly in the middle until you can make sure that it’s going back up.
To damage Jupiclops, you first have todestroy the two mechanisms on each side of the battlefieldsince they’re creating a barrier over it. To hit these, you can jump up and slash three times. It’s recommendednot to hit these mechanisms during the sweep attacksince you might get hit. However, you can attack them during the projectile attack.
While you’re able to use your ESP Blast skill on the side mechanisms, it’snot worth doing it since you’ll need it for the boss itself.
When Jupiclops performs the projectile attack in this phase, you can simply wait on the ground until a projectile is shot and then jump to the nearby mechanism to hit it.You can repeat this process to avoid any damage without using a dash. However, if a projectile gets too close, you can try to either parry it or simply dash through.
Once you destroy both the mechanisms, the bosswill fall to the ground and allow you to hit it for a certain amount of time. However, if you reach its HP threshold for the next phase in this time, it’ll automatically summon the mechanisms and create a barrier early. You’ll get past the first phase after breaking the barrier two times.
Jupiclops Second Phase Fight Guide
Once you reach the 60 percent HP threshold, the second phase starts, andit’s signified by the boss screaming after its barrier resets. This phase will last roughly until the boss has 40 percent HP left, and it introduces a bunch of new attacks, making this fight significantly harder:
Description
Electric Orb
When the second phase starts, the boss' sweep attack will essentially get an added layer. Before doing the sweep, it’ll firstfly across the battlefield dropping orbs with a bit of distancebetween them.
Once it reaches the other side, it’ll go down to the ground and perform the sweep attack, which can also happen twice like the first phase.
Electric Field
While this attack has a low chance of happening, it’s also the most devastating one from Jupiclops. In it, the boss ascends in the battlefield like in the projectile attack andinstead summons some lasers that represent a triangle.
After a couple of seconds, itlaunches an electric field in this triangle that deals a ton of damage. To dodge this, you have to wait until the field locks in and then run out of it as fast as possible, with a dash at the very end.
Launch Attack
This is the easiest attack that you see in the second phase, where the boss can justlaunch itself at your current location in between the above attacks. It’s easy to dodge since you may clearly see the giant mass heading over to your location.
Out of all these attacks, the Electric Orb can be the hardest one to dodge unless you know a trick. When you see this attack happen, quickly start moving to the side where the boss starts dropping the orbs. Move as far as you may and then stand in the gap between any two orbs, waiting for the sweep attack.
The closer you are to the start of the orb attack, the more time you’ll have to dodge the sweep attack. If you stay on the other end instead, you’ll likely get hit by the orbs while trying to dodge the sweep. You can easily get past this phase in a single barrier break if you use the three basic attacks into the ESP Blast combination.
While using the ESP Blast, make sure you don’t run out of your ESP sinceyou’re bound to get hit with the boss' fast attacksif you do.
Jupiclops Third Phase Fight Guide
The final phase of Jupiclops starts at 40 percent HP and lasts until the end, which is roughly two barrier breaks. There’s only one new attack in this phase where the boss launches itself in random corners of the battlefield, and it’s quite easy to dodge. However, themain difficulty with this phase is the buff to other attacksthat you’ve seen before.
For example, the normal projectile attack now rapidly shoots them, making it impossible to follow the pattern from the first phase. Moreover, the orbs summoned by the boss are much closer to each otherand the launch attack can happen twice. This phase mainly focuses on forcing you to position yourself well.
For the projectile attack, you can nowalternate between the two mechanismsinstead of trying to focus on one during it.
Jupiclops Boss Rewards
The best thing about fighting a main boss in Shadow Labyrinth is not only that you get to go to the next area, but also unlock a new permanent ability. These abilities make it much easier to fight normal mobsin the world, and some can even help you access new areas.
For Jupiclops, you’ll get the ESP Barrier ability that lets you create a barrier using some ESP. you may hold this barrier for however long you want, buteach attack it takes will further reduce your ESP. It goes away if you stop holding the required button or your ESP runs out.
