Early on in your journey throughWuchang: Fallen Feathers, you’ll encounter a difficult boss fight with a monster called Gluttonous Monstrosity Lu Hongliu. This boss can prove tricky, and has a pretty steep degree of difficulty from the very first boss you encounter in the game. Her movements are fast and aggressive, so you’ll need to be an expert in dodging and blocking.

Lu Hongliu Move Set
Lu Hongliu hastwo phasesto her move set. However, writ large, her moves can be broken down into three basic categories:
Throughout the battle, Lu Hongliucycles between various types of claw attacks, which you’ll have to dodge carefully,as well as bite and projectile-based corruption attacks.
While you can use any type of weapon you desire,faster-paced weapons are ideal for this fight.
Lu Hongliu is quite quick on the battlefield, so heavier weapons like axes are going to prove less useful.
Phase One
In the first phase of the fight, Lu Hongliu has aseries of different movesshe’ll cycle between.
Charge Attack
Lu Hongliu willreel back and chargeacross the battlefield.
you may actuallydodge this attack without doing a swift step. Simply move out of the way if you desire.
Standing Claw Attack
Lu Hongliu will stand up, towering over you,followed by a series of claw swipes.
Time your dodges right before she swipesto avoid her attacks and gain Skyborn Might.
Leap
Lu Hongliu willleap across the battlefielddirectly on top of you.
Again, you’ll need to time your dodge correctly to avoid this attack.
Simply back up out of range of this attack.
Bite
If you are knocked down, or stay in close range after a series of claw attacks, Lu Hongliu willtry to grapple you and bite you with a series of bites.
Focus on dodging this attack at all costs, as this attack can be devastating to recover from.
Phase Two
In phase two, Lu Hongliu retains all of the same attacks, andgains a few extra attacks
At the start of this phase,Lu Hongliu will topple over, appearing weak.
Wait for her to fall completely and sit still for a moment.This is a great time to follow up with some quick extra attacksor spells to do extra damage.

Standing Double-Time Claws
Lu Hongliu’sstanding claw attacks last for twice as long, so be wary before attacking.
Jump
Occasionally, Lu Hongliu willleap straight into the air.
Once again, you willhave to dodge this attack with a well-timed swift step.
Extended Corruption Spew
When Lu Hongliu spews corruption at you,her range is a lot longer.
You’ll either need toback up even farther, or run in a complete circle to avoid this attack.
How To Defeat Lu Hongliu
The key to defeating Lu Hongliu is tomaster your dodges.
You cannot really parry or block her attacks, but you can dodge every single one of them.
Like most dodges,the perfect time to dodge is right before the attack strikes.
From there, you’ll want to dodge her attacks as they come at you, and thenfollow-up with quick attacks that build Skyborn Mightand spells like so:
If you have a spell that can inflict a conditionlike burning on Lu Hongliu,this is ideal, as you’ll deal damage more often in this way.
The trick to defeating Lu Hongliu is understanding her movement and attacks. She is very quick, meaning youcan’t really use heavy attacks to defeat her.
verify youhave at least one item on your person that can clear corruptionin case you are hit with Lu Hongliu’s corruption spew.
You’re going to want totake your time through this fight.
Dodge her attacksas much as you’re able to,take small follow-up attackswhen you have the opportunity, andcast spells at a range.
Slowly but surely, you’ll break down her defenses.Be prepared for a long fight, and don’t rush. Stay in rhythm.
