WhileShadow Labyrinthmight be a 2D Platformer, it still works a lot like many other souls-like games where you have to spawn all the way back on your last checkpoint if you get defeated by a boss or normal enemy. Thankfully, there are usually checkpoints right before the boss fights, making your journey easier.
Duke Sirius is one of the minibosses in the game, and you’ll have to use your checkpoint quite a lot of times when you encounter them in Torn Lands. However, they have a very specific set of attacks that makes them easy to defeat after a couple of runs.
Where To Find Duke Sirius
Since Duke Sirius is a miniboss, the fight against it isn’t a one-and-done and you cankeep visiting the chamber where you fought it and trigger the battle again. Unfortunately, you don’t have a button that triggers this battle, which means that you’ll have to fight it every time you try to cross its chambers.
Duke Sirius can mainly be found in two places across the lands of Shadow Labyrinth. However, the main fight you’ll encounter against it will be in Torn Landssince you don’t have the grass on walls to avoid the tornado attack in this one. you’re able to find it on the bottom right side of Torn Lands, to the left of one of the non-orb checkpoints.
How To Defeat Duke Sirius
While fighting Duke Sirius, you’ll face a total of three main attacks, andeach one can be identified based on how high it jumpsin the air. Here’s what you should look out for:
Description
Ground Pound
In this attack, Duke quickly jumps in the air and starts making its way towards your location. Once close,it’ll pounce on the ground, creating a shockwave and dealing damage.
Tornado Attack
In this attack, the boss will slightly rise at its spot and flap its wings to summonvarious tornadoes that will make their way to your location. This is the most intimidating attack from this boss.
Fire Attack
Finally, when the boss loses a certain amount of HP, it’ll rise high up in the air andsummon a barrage of fire at the spot on the ground. You can easily avoid it by running away.
The main requirement for winning the battle against Duke Sirius isfiguring out which attack you’re facing.
The Ground Pound attack can easily be avoided by timing your dodge at the right time. However, make sure that youdon’t get hit by Duke’s body while you’re trying to time the pound itself. The Tornado Attack, on the other hand, can be a little difficult. You mainly have two methods to dodge it:
As the boss loses more HP, it’ll start spawning the tornadoes faster, reducing the distance between them and thus, the area that you have to land in. However, it’s important not to dash through a tornado since you’ll just get hit by the next one. Once you have these jump timings, you’ll easily be able to defeat the boss.
Of course, if you have the Gaia mode ready, you can also use it to simply hack away at its HP. Once defeated, you can use the devour skill to get some materials from it,but it won’t give you any special abilities like the main bosses.
