Date Everythingis an interesting mash-up. Partially a dating sim visual novel, and partially an exploration-puzzle game, you will be spending a lot of time at home seeking out the many dateable objects in the game. This makes up the bulk of the game, and while your house is already plenty cluttered, it is in places pretty bland.
That doesn’t have to be the case, though. Any house becomes a home with a little bit of personalisation, and Date Everything offers you. It is, however, in a somewhat unconventional manner that only works within the context of, well, dating everything.
What Can Be Used To Decorate The House?
There are two major means of decorating the house in the game. The first is the additional ofvarious paintingsand other framed memorabilia. The other is the addition ofplentiful plantsall over the house. You have quite a bit of control over the former, while the latter is more of an on-or-off situation.
When it comes to the paintings and other framed objects,they are presented through Artt and Lady Memoria. They make you go through the various items you have locked away in the safety of the attic to actually add some life to your home. Literally, since they are also dateable objects.
In regards to plants,they appear in the house as a culmination of Prissy’s relationship, so it happens all at once.
How To Add Paintings To The House
Through Lady Memoria
Lady Memoria is the representation of all your items gathered over the year that have piled up more and more until it literally became a concept of its own. Of course,the sheer concentration of those memories is what created Lady Memoria, rather than the piles themselves. As such, even with the piles removed, the memories remain.
Each conversation with Lady Memoria enlists the aid of both Cam and Artt as she goes through the piles of memories. These include many items, from old magazines and childhood photos, to concert tickets and paintings. With each item, you have the choice totrash an item, hang it up on display, or leave it as is. These choices are permanent, so make them carefully.
You don’t get to choose where each of these items goes, with each of them having a defined location that Artt chooses himself. However, you can put every single item Lady Memoria puts to you on display if you want to have a home bursting with your memories and a bit more colour.
That said,Lady Memoria herself does enjoy when you are willing to discard some thingsas a sign of growth.
Through Artt
As we saw with Lady Memoria, Artt is the manifestation of art itself and knows just how to display artworks in a way that is appeasing to the eye and mind. In your own conversations with Artt, he also offers you a series of paintings and asks if you want to display them. Once again, you can say no, butthis is a permanent choice, and not one Artt will be pleased with.
Unlike with Lady Memoria, Artt asks you where you would like each of these paintings displayed.There are a total of four paintings, and four locations in which you’re able to place them. Once they are placed, it is permanent. Here is each location:
If you chat with Artt about each painting, whether you agree with him or not,he will love you for this. Another benefit of engaging in art.
Any items displayed by Artt and Lady Memoria around the house can be used to speak with them, too.
How To Add Plants To The House
The final touches you may add to your house are completely disconnected from Artt and Lady Memoria, though it is also the result of a Dateable found in the attic. The Dateable in question is Prissy Plastique, a plastic plant that desperately wants to be a real flower. And you can help her achieve just that.
Just agree with her in each of her conversations, and be enthusiastic about it. Refusing to help her will not only result in a Hate ending, but a much more barren house. With a Love or Friends ending, Prissy ultimately does become a real plant, and adds plants around the whole house to celebrate. They are just about everywhere, adding as nice touch of greenery to every room in your home.
Just like with Artt and Lady Memoria, all the plants around the house can be used to speak with Prissy Plastique. Ironically, her name does not change after becoming a real plant.
