What Are Aptitudes

There are three types of Aptitudes in Umamusumethat play a major role in your overall strategy and character build:Track, Distance, and Style,which show the character’s strengths in several areas, so you can focus on utilizing these for victories.

Track

Track is your arena-related aptitude, and there are two kinds, namelyDirt and Turf; your Umamusume may not perform better in one of these, which can make it harder for them to utilize their speed. You will want toavoid racing in stadiums that will impede the progress of your racer.

Distance

The running tracks vary in length, and theDistance aptitude of your Umamusume shows how well they can run in them.

Some racers are more suitable for shorter sprints, asthey may run out of stamina while covering huge distances.However,if your Umasume has enough stamina, they can even run on long tracks.

Pace

Youchase behind the leading front racersand get a lead when they are running out of stamina during the final spurt. You needpower and staminato pull this off.

Late

You runnear the end behind the pacersto conserve your stamina, but to lead, you willneed power to get ahead of your opponents.

End

This is themost stamina-conserving position, which may put you at an advantage if other racers are running out. You need ahuge amount of powerto get a lead in this position.

What Is Inheritance

Umamusume: Pretty Derby features a Legacy mechanic, which lets youborrow stats from racers you previously used in Career Mode. The stats you obtaindepend on the sparks those racers got during their career.

You canchoose up to two legaciesset up by your previous racers, and the legacies you attached to those racers before starting their career will act like a sub-legacy in your case.
