In the roguelike souls RPG adventureElden Ring Nightreign, you are sent out on expeditions alone or in a party of three to defeat various Nightlords. Before that, you will need to gather strength and find various pieces of equipment and items that will make you more powerful. Various settlements, caves, and other areas will have enemies for you to fight, bosses to defeat, and treasures to loot.
Expeditions will have you exploring a large map of a region calledLimveld. While exploring, you may come across certain conditions caused by a phenomenon called Shifting Earth. This will introduce changes to the map, such as new challenges and secrets.
What Is The Shifting Earth
Shifting Earth is introduced to your adventuresafter you defeat the first Nightlordinthe Tricephalos expedition. This is a phenomenon that occursafter successfully defeating the Nightlordof an expedition. Thisintroduces conditions to the mapfor a certain period of time, after which Limveldreturns to its original state.
Shifting Earth conditions may endafter going on several expeditionsor byusing the bedto pass time.
There areseveral types of Shifting Earth modifiersthat you’re able to come across.
The Crater Shifting Earth
During this period,a large crater will appearon Limveld’s map. This crater can be explored and willgrant you several rewardsif you defeat the various bosses within.
The crater will havepools of lavascattered on its surface as well as in its pit. verify toavoid falling into theseto keep from getting damaged.
At the bottom of the crater is a Magma Wyrm. Defeating this will unlock a smithing table that will allow you to upgrade your weapon into a legendary piece.
The Mountaintop Shifting Earth
This introduces asnowy mountainous areato Limveld. Exploration of this area will require you tohead to its center. The boss found here is aMountaintop Ice Dragon. Defeating this will grant youDormant Powerwhich willreduce frostbite damage and buildup.
The Rotted Woods Shifting Earth
This introduces an area that will beinfected with Scarlet Rot. To get the rewards of this Shifting Earth, you need to firstexplore a fortlocated in the area.Reach the toweratop the fort tointeract with the maptoreveal the locationsof various key locations, such as thebosses in the area.
Remaining in an area infected with Scarlet Rot will cause you totake damage over time. Make sure tomove quicklyto avoid getting wiped out.
The map alsodisplays a marked locationwhere themain reward of the Shifting Earthcan be obtained. Head for the area andinteract with a red flower on a treeto receive a buff that will allow you totraverse through the Scarlet Rot unscathed, increase yourmaximum health, andrecover some healthafter taking damage.
The Noklateo Shifting Earth
This condition introducesa large city to Limveld. This city will bewithin a large structure, and you will need toexplore this areaanddefeat the bosseswithin to obtain the Shifting Earth’s main reward.
Defeating the boss,Naturalborn of the Void, willremove the sealof the area. The location iswithin the boss arenaand inside you will receive a reward that will allow you tostand again after falling to near-death onceand you will bepowerful for a short periodafterwards.
