When you first start playingDeath Stranding 2:On The Beach, you might feel a little powerless since you have to load up a ton of cargo and fight difficult enemies without too much utility in your hands. However, as you progress the game, you’ll get various upgrades that’ll permanently buff Sam.
A lot of these upgrades come from the APAS Enhancements. While these upgrades don’t have a huge impact by themselves, they can quickly add up and significantly boost your output if you make sure to earn a bunch of APAS memory.
How To Get More APAS Memory
The APAS system initially gets unlockedonce you reach Australia and meet a person from an organization called APAS. He’ll tell you that he trusts you to connect the entire Australia to the Chiral Network and also unlock this system for you. However, to get upgrades in this system, you’ll need to get yourself some APAS Enhancement Memory.
Thankfully, earning this memorydoesn’t make you do anything out of the ordinary. You’ll earn APAS memory whenever youdeliver orders to specific outposts and get enough likes from them to reach the next star. Whenever you complete a star with each terminal, you not only get a bunch of new items, but also APAS memory.
You can see the amount of memory you get in the upgrade screen itself,right after the new item blueprintthat you receive.
The higher your stars with the outpost, the more memory you’ll get. Hence, it’s essential to take some time and deliver random cargo to these outpostsinstead of brute-forcing through the main story.
Where To Use APAS Memory
There are mainly two methods to access your APAS Enhancement screen and use your memory to get upgrades. Theeasiest one is through the main menubyfirst entering the map screen and then pressing the left arrow key on your controller. You’ll see an option for APAS Enhancement in the menu here.
Alternatively, you also get the option to check out your APAS Enhancementswhen you’re getting ready for an order right after selecting the desired route. Once in the enhancement screen, you can select one of the upgrades that are either connected to the center or to one of the other upgrades you’ve activated.
You can always deactivate an upgrade bypressing the same button (X) on it at any point. You can also completely respec the board by holding that button.
Since you may access these enhancements at any point,it’s recommended to consistently change thembased on your situation.
