Summary

Hollow Knight: Silksongis supposedly coming this year, though you still have a few people that are understandably erring on the side of caution. Nintendo has insisted that Silksong will be released at some point in 2025, and it was recently revealed thata playable version of Silksong will feature at an Australian video game museum exhibitionlater this year, but despite this, we still don’t have a confirmed date.

That could be set to change pretty soon though, as Silksong fans recently made a discovery that seems to suggest that team Cherry made be prepping for an imminent announcement.First shared by a Reddit user called TomNook5085with the Silksong subreddit, a subreddit dedicated to Hollow Knight and YouTuber Primacon discovered something rather interesting about Silksong’s Xbox page.

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Xbox Page Hints At Imminent Announcement

They discovered that Hollow Knight: Silksong’s Xbox page was manually edited earlier today, though we don’t know who by or what the changes were. A lot of the effort made recently was to confirm that the page had been edited, and Silksong fans discovered that a manual edit was made at what they believe to be 6:38AM UTC.

If you convert that time to the time in Adelaide (the place where developer Team Cherry is located), you get the time 4:08PM, which is within working times of the studio. If you convert 6:38AM UTC to the time in Washington (the place where Microsoft and Xbox are based), you get 2:38AM, meaning it’s very likely an edit made by Team Cherry. The code for the Xbox page was even shared, allowing you to see the edit for yourself if you CTRL-F the phrase “2025”.

If this is all true, Team Cherry making direct edits to the Hollow Knight: Silksong Xbox page - right before the summer period, which has all the big gaming showcases - suggests that we’ll get some news of some kind. With almost half the year gone, and Team Cherry and Nintendo insistent we’ll get a 2025 release, it feels like this news couldn’t be anything other than that long-awaited release date.

Of course, it’s worth keeping expectations in check. We have been silkposted by Xbox before in the past, but there is finally a reason to be cautiously optimistic, and maybe look ahead to that Xbox Showcase on June 8. Our wait for a release date might be over in just a couple of weeks.
