Summary
Hollow Knight: Silksongfans are down bad. After expectations were raisedoverandover againthat the game would appear at one of this year’s summer showcases, it was once again absent, apart froma joke during a Deadpool game reveal, and a few seconds of gameplay and a polite nod at the Xbox event this past Sunday.
With no firm release date in sight, despitea recent tease from one of the game’s publishers, Silksongers have been scouring its appearance during theXbox Showcasefor any hints they can. Although slightly far-fetched, they think they’ve found one, and it comes in the form of the achievements displayed on Microsoft’snewly announced Rog Ally X.
Hollow Knight: Silksong Fans Are Now Convinced Achievements Shown During Xbox Event Hold Clue To Release Date
Anew poston the always normal, never hysterical Hollow Knight: Silksongsubreddithas been gaining traction over the last few hours, with the original poster, oknozor, stating, “Silksong will be released between July 21 and July 27, I have proof.”
They then cite a screenshot of the game from theXboxAlly reveal, which shows the game as having 52 achievements, 30 of which have been completed. Oknozor theorizes that this number, 30/52, is tied to the 52 weeks of the year, and given that the 30th week falls between July 21 and July 27, this is when the game will release.
While the theory is a little out there, the UI displayed is a little fishy. Although the “player” has only 30/52 achievements, they’re shown as having 1000/1000 Gamerscore, so there may be some credence to the theory, as somebody has definitely manipulated the image somewhere down the line.
Over on Reddit, the theory was met with mixed reactions. While some were quick to mock the OP, like VerraTheDM, whosaid, “Now this is the kind of cold hard logic that I can respect. No reliance on belief in the slightest,” others got behind it. Randyfulcher09said, “It’s a great theory and with how f***ing cryptic Team Cherry is, it would not surprise me if this was a way they hinted at their release week.”
With how f***ing cryptic Team Cherry is, it would not surprise me if this was a way they hinted at their release week.
It’s not the first time the Silksong community has fallen head over heels for a theory. Earlier this year, fans were convinced Team Cherry wasteasing something with an ARG, whichlater turned out to be false, and there have been numerous instances wherefans have had their hopes dashed.
Things have gotten so bad that, in January, players just decided togive the game a release date of their own, and last year, somebodymade their own version of Silksong in Minecraft, just to pass the time.
