In a section titled “Rumors and Speculation,“the team at Halo Studios acknowledged the continued presence of ongoing rumors about the Halo projects currently in development before revealing that the Halo World Championship will play host to information on what is likely the next Halo title.

Speculation is always fun, but if you want the official scoop on what Halo Studios has been working on, you won’t want to miss this year’s Halo World Championship. We really hope you’ll join us in Seattle this October!

It’s worth noting that last year’s Halo World Championship saw343 Studios rebrand itself to Halo Studios, complete with a brand-new documentary-style video that showcased Master Chief in Unreal Engine 5, along with word of “multiple” projects being worked on.

Rumors About A New Halo Have Been Swirling For Some Time

The official acknowledgment of ongoing rumors, plus a confirmed date for news, follows a massive tease about the return of Halo that was said by Phil Spencer during the Xbox Games Showcase. In discussing next year’s 25th anniversary of Xbox, Spencer teased “the return of a classic that’s been with us since the beginning,” something many took as a reference to none other than Halo.

Before that,a known Halo insider shared that Halo Studios was preparing for a “big announcement"for some point this year. Flash forward to today, and an announcement has been set for late October. Finally, before all of that, more information about the supposed Master Chief collection for Nintendo and PlayStation was teased, including the slim likelihood that every game is included in the package.

Which is to say that Halo as a franchise has been a rather leaky faucet as of late, and it won’t be too long before we all find out what exactly the future of the long-running first-person shooter is going to look like.
