Summary

In classic Rockstar fashion, a secondGrand Theft Auto 6trailer wasreleased on a random Tuesday, almost 18 months after the first, andjust days after the game was officially delayed.

This means that for the next few months, every frame of the almost-three-minutetrailerwill be scrutinized with a fine-tooth comb as players eagerly try to find every reference and story clue available.

While some are likely to be hidden deep in the background of the trailer, eager-eyed fans think they’ve spotted the actor for one character within moments of Rockstar dropping the video.

Could It Really Be Matty Matheson In GTA 6?

Matty Mathesonis a chef, internet personality, and actor who arguably came to the public’s attention in the TV series The Bear. He played the lovable, brash Neil Fak, the handyman best friend of protagonist Carmy Berzatto.

Within moments of the new GTA 6 trailer dropping, fans (including myself) felt they’d spotted a character played by none other than Matheson. At around 2:30, somebody can be heard saying, “Hey, if you’ve got friends, can you HOOK. ME. UP,” before panning to a long-haired portly chap, with a moustache and tattoos. Every part of this oozed Matheson.

The voice sounded eerily similar to me, and when it panned to the character, my instant reaction was “hey, that’s him from The Bear.” Clearly others had the same thoughts.

Since the trailer, social media has been awash with players exclaiming that this new character is Matheson. “This guy in the GTA 6 trailer has to be Matty Matheson. There’s no way,” said@Faizyabkazi on Twitter, a sentiment echoed by many.

Following the trailer, Rockstar published more information and images of the character on the game’sofficial website. Named Cal Hampton, it reads, “Jason’s friend and a fellow associate of Brian’s, Cal feels safest hanging at home, snooping on Coast Guard comms with a few beers and some private browser tabs open. Cal is at the low tide of America and is happy there. Casual paranoia loves company, but his friend Jason has bigger plans.”

It just has to be him, right?
