Summary
Grand Theft Auto 6finallygot its second trailer earlier today, days after a delaythat had people fearing the worst. Just like the first, it’s already being picked to pieces to seeexactly which celebrities will be in the game, if there’sany evidence that supports existing theories about protagonists Jason and Lucia, and if there are any little Easter eggs that Rockstar has hidden away.
On that front, a lot of people seem to think thatthe very start of the traileris a subtle little nod from Rockstar to arguably one of the most stressful days in the studio’s history. You may recall, back in 2022, Rockstar was hit with one of the worst leaks that the industry has ever seen, with gameplay footage of what appeared to be GTA 6 leaking years ahead of schedule.
It was considereda very emotional and upsetting matter for developers at Rockstarto have their work leaked when it wasn’t ready, but it now appears that the studio can see the funny side of it.
GTA 6’s Second Trailer Includes A Subtle Nod To 2022’s Gameplay Leaks
Right at the start of the trailer, we can see Jason up on the roof of what we can assume is his house, and an approaching friend/landlord asks him what the heck he’s doing. Jason responds by saying “Oh, just fixing some leaks”, which fans have taken as a bit of Rockstar humor, addressing the infamous gameplay leaks of 2022, or the fact that GTA 6’s first trailer leaked online ahead of schedule too.
It’s a little nod that is already being described as “genius” by fans, and has actually eased fears about the game’s quality somewhat,as a Reddit user called The_Ghost_Of_Pedrosays that this is enough to convince them that GTA 6’s writing “still has that Rockstar charm”. If that’s all it takes, imagine what will happen when we actually see gameplay for the first time.
