Summary
Eagle-eyedRockstarfans seem to have found evidence inGrand Theft Auto 6’s latest trailer that the game is going to include more than one state in its massive map.
If there’s one thing that GTA 6’s long-awaited Trailer 2made very clear to fans of the series, it’s that thesixth entry is going to have an absolutely humongous and detailed map. Rockstar has become known for how expansive its open-worlds are (just look atRed Dead Redemption 2), and it looks like GTA 6 is going to go even further.
As part of the latest info dump, we got to see a lot more of Vice City and the state of Leonida than we ever had before, including some of the specific locations that make up the map like Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia. As big as the areas we’ve seen so far look, though, it’s possible that Rockstar has even more up its sleeve.
Does GTA 6’s Map Have More Than One State?
Leonida Might Just Be The Beginning
Just after the release of GTA 6’s second trailer,eagle-eyed sleuths started digging through as much of the footage as possibleto try and find as many details as possible. One of the most interesting finds over the past few days comes from the aptly-named Twitter user GTA6Intel, who noticed that some of the license plates look a little different from the rest.
While most of the cars we’ve seen so far have a Leonida license plate to represent the Florida-based Vice City, the vehicle pictured above instead has a state called “Gloriana”, which seems to be representing Georgia. Others pointed out that the newly-revealed Mount Kalaga even resembles Georgia’s Providence Canyon, suggesting it’s not part of Leonida at all.
This could indicate that GTA 6’smap isn’t just made up of Leonida and might even include parts of Gloriana as well. That might seem a little greedy considering how massive Vice City already looks to be on its own, but it’s not unlike Rockstar to include other maps within its world like Mexico in Red Dead Redemption and North Yankton in GTA 5.
It’s also possible that the license plate means nothing at all and is just a cosmetic choice to make the world more fleshed out. There is a Liberty City license plate, after all.
The possibility of GTA 6 having more than one state also calls back to some of the earliest leaks thatsuggested it was called “Project Americas” during development. Some of those leaks hinted at more than one location for GTA 6, although it was also stated back then that the map might evolve over time, so Gloriana could even be added at a later date after launch.
