Quick Links
Grounded 2is full of secret areas full of goodies you’ll need if you want to thrive in the park. One such area is the Briefcase, a nondescript box that contains some of the rarest resources you’ll ever come across.
Opening the Briefcase can be complex, though, as you’ll need to find two individual codes. Tracking them down isn’t too hard, but it will require you to go on a spider-filled journey. If you’re wanting to track down the codes yourself, or just want to skip the faff, this is how you open the Briefcase in Grounded 2.
Where Is The Briefcase?
It’s easy to completely miss the Briefcase, as it is found on thefar Picnic Table Bench, next to thecooler. The area is infested withCockroach Nymphs, but, unless you injure any of them, they’ll remain completely docile.
To get to the Briefcase, climb up the tableclothuntil you reach the first bench, which has anOrb Weaver Jr.and aGarden Snailon it. You can now eitherclimb up the spider webbing, fighting the two Orb Weavers you’ll encounter on the way, or turn around and go through thefold of the tableclothinstead.
If you do the latter, carry on all the way to the end, avoiding theSpiderlings and Orb Weaverthere, until you get to the three boxes ofHot Chachas. Climb up them and then walk along the handle of theCroquet Malletto get to the other bench.
Finding The First Briefcase Code
To open the Briefcase, each lock will need itsown individual three-digit code.Thankfully, the first one is very close by.
Head to thetop of the Picnic table. The table is infested withORC Ladybugs, Spiderlings, and Orb Weaver Jrs., but they’re easily enough avoided.
The first code you’re looking for is scribbled plain as day on the bottom of theCrossword Puzzle, near the second ORC Ladybug. It’s also right next to anest of Spiderlingsin the rolled-up portion of the magazine, which you will likely have to walk past to get to the code.
Once you have the code, you can eithergo back to the Briefcaseto put it in, or go to the next location to pick up the second key first.
Finding The Second Briefcase Code
The second code is a bit further away:the Lectern. Climb down or jump off the Picnic Table and proceedsoutheastto the tall stand, which you can see from just about anywhere in the park.
This is a more dangerous area than the Picnic Table, as it’s home tomore spiders, including Wolf Spiders, and butterflies at the very top.
Thankfully, the climb itself isn’t as tricky as the Picnic Table. If you have anOrb Weaver Buggyor the patience of a saint to climb across unaided, you’re able to use the nearbyspiderwebto skip the first floor of the lectern entirely.
The Lectern is entirely linear, with you scrambling over rubbish and junk (picking upplenty of spicy candyon the way), as well as a brief detour around the outside of the podium. Eventually, you’ll climb up through a hole for the microphone cable.
As soon as you climb up, you’ll be attacked by twoORC Butterfliesand anORC Weevil.Either kill them, or simply look in thetop left cornerof the lectern to see a piece of paper with the second three-digit code written down and escape while the Butterflies are flapping up a storm.
Both Briefcase Codes
If you’d rather skip finding the codes for yourself and get straight to opening the Briefcase, these are both codes:
137
514
Once you have one or both codes, return to the Briefcaseand put a code intoone of the locks. Once the codes have been put into the correct locks, theBriefcase will open.
Why Should You Open The Briefcase?
Opening the Briefcase comes with acouple of benefits.
The first, of course, is what is inside. Inside you’ll findlots of candy, with minty, spicy, and sour chunks all available. There is alsoa milk molar, story logs, and raw science, making it a treasure trove if you may get in.
The other big reason for opening the Briefcase isconvenience. The case opens up anew path to the top of the table, allowing you to skip going through the cooler on your future trips. It also gives youa quicker way down, too, as you can drop down to the Briefcase and carry on through the tablecloth instead of following theentire route around.
