Once you get past the tutorial ofGrounded 2, the game doesn’t nudge you to play a certain way and instead lets you explore the world at your own pace. While the main quest does unlock some useful items, they aren’t necessary for survival. However, one thing that is necessary for survival is keeping your character fed and hydrated.

You can see your current thirst and hunger levels on the bottom left side of your screen unless you’re playing in creative mode, and it can be difficult to come across water in the early game unless you know where to look.

Where To Find Clean Water

You’d want to start looking for water once your bar is at around 25 percent in Grounded 2, and instead of looking for it on the ground, you’d want to look straight up. As long as you’re around some non-dry grass, you may find water droplets hanging at the top of this grass, and the spawn locations for these are completely random.

Thankfully, these droplets are huge and easy to identify. Once you find a water droplet, you canfollow the grass it’s on down to its roots and then hit it with your Omni-Axe one time. This will make the dew fall and you can get close to it to drink it. Keep in mind that the drop constantly moves around, and you wouldn’t want to lose it.

You can get an Omni-Axe at theRanger Outpost to the south of the Snackbar Frontarea.

If the water drop falls into another body of water, it’ll instantly go away. You can alsofind juice droplets sometimes when you’re exploring different areas.

How To Store Water

There might be times when you see a bunch of water droplets but don’t necessarily need to drink them yet. In these cases, you can make yourself a Canteen, which is unlocked after analyzing Crude Rope. However, you’ll need an Omni-Shovel for this since it’s required to unearth the Grubsand get the Grub Hide from them.

With a Canteen, you can store up to two droplets of water that you can drink at any time. For further storage, you can create a Water Container at your base, which requires three Acorn Shells, two Crude Rope, and one Clover Leaf. You can then use this to scoop water into your Canteen before leaving the base.

Should You Drink Nasty Water?

Apart from the fresh water droplets, the only other water you’llfind in the early game is the dirty pools with Nasty Water. While you do have the option to drink this, it’s obvious that you shouldn’t. This water gives you the hydration you need but also gives you one stack of sickness every time you consume it.

This sickness not only drops your hunger but can also give you other random effects. The only way to fix this sickness is by sleeping, whichyou can’t do until nighttime and it also drops your hydration.
