Graviton Spike is the latest Exotic hand cannon to grace theDestiny 2sandbox. This weapon is a hybrid between a 150 RPM Arc primary and a 90 RPM Stasis shotgun. Calling it versatile would be an understatement. And if you can juggle both modes in combat, you’ll benefit from constant lightning strikes and crystal detonations. It’s a powerhouse in the hands of a good player.
Getting your hands on this weapon is surprisingly straightforward, if a little frustrating due to some obscure collectible locations and a forced timegate. Today, we’ll be covering how to start the Graviton Spike quest and how to complete it from start to finish, showcasing all weapon part locations across Kepler.
How To Start The Graviton Through The Ages Quest
The Graviton Through the Ages quest is unlocked uponcompleting the Edge of Fate campaign on any difficulty.Once you’ve completed the final mission, visit the Altar of Relativity in the Caldera hub to pick up the quest. You’ll need to speak with Lodi to get started.
Completing this quest won’t take more than an hour at most, but bear in mind thatthe final step of this quest is time-gated.You’ll need to wait for the Sieve activity to become available to finish the quest, so it’s a good idea to start this quest when Sieve has 30-45 minutes on its timer. By the time you get everything, you can play that activity to grab Graviton Spike.
Investigate The Outer Steppes
Upon speaking with Lodi, you’ll learn that the Graviton Spike has multiple components scattered across Kepler. His first lead will take you to theOuter Steppeson the northwest corner of the map. When you exit the network of tunnels and end up in the exterior Outer Wastes, walk towards the Exotic waypoint on your HUD and turn left at the broken vents.Wrap around the rocks to find a Rosetta terminal you can interact with.
Most of the quest objectives require you to interact with Rosetta terminals or rubble in a hidden room. Keep an eye out for the “Hidden Objective” buff on the left of your HUD; it’ll hint that the solution is close.
Outer Steppes DEO Weapon Piece
The weapon piece is located in the southwest corner of the Outer Wastes, found inside a building on a cliffside. You’ll need to charge three generators with Matterspark to open the door.
With all three generators charged, the door next to generator three will become accessible. Head inside and interact with the rubble on the ground to claim the first part.
Investigate The Gorge
Your next weapon part will be located inThe Gorge, specifically inThe Stellar Sinktunnels. The waypoint on your HUD will direct you to the correct room. Once inside, walk up to the cylindrical Vex structure jutting out of the groundto find the Rosetta terminal.
Gorge DEO Weapon Piece
You’ll find the weapon piece in thesoutheast corner of The Stellar Sink.If you follow the tunnels from where you interacted with the Rosetta terminal, you’ll be in the right place. Getting this part is tricky since you’ll need to grab Mattermorph from a different area to clear a path.
Investigate The Exile’s Accord
Exile’s Accord is where you’ll find the next Rosetta terminal. Make your way to the eastern corner of Kepler and follow the waypoint. It will lead you straight to the terminal.
Exile’s Accord DEO Weapon Piece
Getting to the weapon component can be slightly tricky here. You’ll want to exit the Rosetta room and head into the spore-infested chamber nearby.Use Matterspark and take therightexit portalto enter the Fallen base’s upper levels. Look for a Relocator cannon in the back left corner of the room. Grab it, aim up through one of the vents, shoot the teleporter pad, then use the teleporter to go up a floor. The weapon part will be on your right.
Collect Vex Data Fragments
This next step requires you tocollect Vex Data Fragments from slain Vex units. You can farm the Vex enemies that spawn right outside of Caldera to get this done quickly. There’s a nearby structure that you can enter, which typically features a mote pylon that you can activate. This will spawn dozens of Vex enemies and a Hydra boss towards the end.
Investigate The Aionian Campus
There’s one more component you’ll need to grab before you can start a Sieve run.Make your way to the Aionian Campus in Central Academy. The waypoint will lead you into a claustrophobic area with a laser-blocked door and a nearby teleporter. You’ll need tohead up to the campus grounds above ground and get a Relocator cannon.
When you first head outside, turn to your left and run towards the corner. You’ll find a Mattermorph cluster inside a red cylinder. Use your newfound melee ability to unlock the container that’s holding a Relocator—it’s hanging from a crane above. Grab the Relocator cannon, run back downstairs, turn on the teleporter, and then use it to claim the final part.
Complete A Sieve Run
Sieve Timegate
Sieve is a time-sensitive activity that is only active during certain parts of the day. You’ll need to wait for the activity to be active before you may complete this step.
Now that you’ve collected every part, it’s time to forge Graviton Spike.Boot up the Sieve activity and complete a single round. The end reward chest will drop the Graviton Spike Exotic with a red border. Extract the deepsight from the weapon to enable weapon crafting through the Enclave hub in Savathun’s Throne World. You’ll need to access the “World” tab to reach this zone; the Enclave isn’t readily accessible throughthe Portal UI.
Additional catalysts and perks for Graviton Spike are unlocked through Kepler’s higher world tier quests.
