Despite having been released well over a decade ago,Grand Theft Auto 4stands asone of the most beloved entriesinRockstar Games' open-world crime franchise. It’s also one of the only entries — aside from the spin-off handheld games — to not be available on all modern consoles.
That said, things took a rather interesting turn when, in May,it was rumored that GTA 4 would be making its way to “modern gen.“Not only that, but it could potentially release later this year, which would makethe delay of Grand Theft Auto 6 from this year to nexta lot more bearable.
Now, things have gotten even more interesting, after a stealth update was spotted on the Rockstar Games support page.
How Do People Even Find Out About These Things?
As first shared on Reddit’s r/GamingLeaksAndRumours sub, the support page for Grand Theft Auto 4 was updated to reflect the presence of a PlayStation 4 copy.
But as quickly as it was spotted, it was removed from the page.An archive on Imgurshowcases what users were able to spot before the switch. Now,the page is basically back to where it was before, showcasing support forXbox One.Xbox 360,PCandPS3platforms.
It’s important to note that this might be an unintended bug,as one user noted that the support page for Chinatown Wars lists a PC version, even though the game has no such version available. However, given that Rockstar was quick to update the page to remove the PS4 options, things are a bit different.
It remains to be when, or if, a port on the PS4 ultimately comes to fruition, but typically speaking, where there is smoke, there is fire.
