Summary
Godzillais one of the most famous movie monsters of all time, so of course, the kaiju already has quite a few of his ownFunko Pops. However, none of them are quite like the colorful collection TheGamer can exclusively reveal today, including some deep cuts from more than 70 years of Godzilla history.
Five figures are joining Godzilla’s Funko Pop collection today, all of which are, despite the standard lizard green that you likely imagine when you picture Godzilla, very brightly colored. Even the newest standard Godzilla Pop,which will be exclusively available from Entertainment Earth, is a shocking shade of purple. The original kaiju even has a matching purple and red plane gripped in its hand.
Fitting that the new purple Godzilla Pop is the one that’s been handed a plane to play with as at 6.6 inches tall, it’s the tallest of the five new additions.
The otherstandard Godzilla figure dropping today is bright pinkand a little shorter than the Entertainment Earth exclusive at 4.9 inches tall. It doesn’t have a plane in its hand, but it does have bright yellow eyes and orange teeth that perfectly pair with its fluorescent pink plastic scales.
The other three Godzilla Pops we can reveal today are the deeper cuts I referenced above.Leading the charge is SpaceGodzilla. When a franchise is around as long as Godzilla, it’s inevitable that at some point, either the lead characters have gone to space, or in this case, something from space has come to visit earth.
SpaceGodzilla Is A Funko Pop Now
As Is Destroyah Along With Three More New Godzilla Pops
SpaceGodzilla is largely the same as its earthly counterpart, however, as reflected in its first-ever Funko Pop, the intergalactic monster has turquoise crystals growing out of its head and shoulders - a result of OG Godzilla’s genes combining with a crystalline organism not of this world. The shortest, but most detailed, in the line-up so far at 4.4 inches, andSpaceGodzilla’s Pop will be exclusively available at Funko.
SpaceGodzilla technically wasn’t the first threat not of this earth that Godzilla had to deal with. 20 years prior, Mechagodzilla was created by aliens and sent to earth to deal with its kaiju, and now that extraterrestrial threat has its own Funko Pop. Mechagodzilla has been given the Funko treatment before, butthis new take on the character is a shocking shade of blueto fit in with the bright colors used for the rest if the collection.
Last but most certainly not least in today’s Godzilla Funko Pop reveals is Destroyah.Exclusively available at Amazon, Destroyah’s first Funko Pop might be the most accurate of the new figures, just with the brightness on its red and yellow color scheme dialed up.All five of Funko’s new Godzilla Pops are available nowwith three of them exclusive to the specific storefronts detailed above.
