Expects Oodles Of Blood And Dismemberment When Yotei Launches

Beyond confirming that one of the franchise’s side missions will be back, the ESRB rating did shed some new light on the game itself. For instance, you’ll have access to spears and rifles, in addition to the usual katanas and bows.

When using those weapons in combat, there’s a chance that enemies will be decapitated or have parts of their bodies chopped off, which is probably a good reason why the game is M. Well, that, and the fact that apparently a character in the game is burned at the stake, another is stabbed repeatedly and another takes their own life.

Sake will also be consumable in the game, and if minigames are more your speed, there’s a drinking one, apparently. Interestingly enough, there is nomention of animals, controlling animals or animal attacks, which seems to be a key element of the game.

All of that creates a game that will likely feel very familiar to those who’ve played the original or its Director’s Cut, but with enough new elements to help make things feel fresh. Either way, it won’t be long until people start to misbehave when it comes to the hot springs scenes.
