Gears Of War’s Days Of Being An Xbox Console Exclusive Have Come To An End

Gears of War: Reloaded was revealed to be coming to PS5 right out of the gate, so Xbox is clearly not trying to hide the fact that the series is not longer exclusive to its own console. It will also be coming to PS5 the same day as Xbox Series X/S and PC, so it won’t be a limited time exclusiveas we saw with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Giventhe success of Oblivion Remastered, it’s safe to say that the multiplatform release strategy is here to stay.

As for the remaster itself, fans are already getting excited. Described as a “faithful” remaster, the game will support 4K resolution and 120 FPS, as well as cross-play multiplayer. On top of all that, there’s cross-progression, so you should be able to swap between any platform you like as you play.

All of the DLC and post-launch content is included, so you won’t have to rebuy it on top of the base game. The price is set at $39.99, but will be free for anyone who already has a digital copy of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. Considering this, it looks like this won’t be part ofXbox’s recently announced price hikes, which will see its new releases ship for $79.99.

For those of you wanting an entirely new Gears of War game, you’ll have to wait until Gears of War: E-Day. This has no release date, and now that Reloaded is launching this year, it seems thatrumours of a 2025 releasewere inaccurate. It has only been announced for Xbox Series X/S and PC, so we’ll have to wait and see if that’s coming to PS5 too.
