If there’s one thing thatSteamis synonymous with, it’s undeniably massive sales, where users can save hundreds of dollars on everything ranging from Triple-A behemoths to indie darlings. That said, for whatever reason, gamers found that this year’s Steam Summer Sale, typically a time for celebration and saving, was rather mediocre, with multiple players calling it “mid.”
However, with the Summer Sale officially over, one gamer wanted to show that the annual event was anything but “mid.” So they took to the Steam Deck subredditto show off a haul that should have cost them over $2,000.
This Gamer Made It Their Mission To Save As Much Money As Possible
To preface, user matthewlloydPA-C had a cart that totaled $2,271.55. However, with Steam’s sale in effect, they achieved a savings of $1,919.17, or 84 percent, leaving their final total for a laundry list of games at $352.38.
Their haul ranges from recent releases to forgotten gems, ranging from theunderrated RoboCop: Rogue Cityto all the original PS2-eraPrince of Persiagames for $8. In-between, they managed to bulk up theirCivilization VDLC list, along with a couple of indie titles.
Unfortunately, many of those in the post didn’t share in the OP’s enthusiasm, with multiple people poking fun at his newly created backlog and others asserting that they will end up not even playing half of the games that they purchased.
“Doing this in one Steam sale seems like overkill,“someone wrote in response. “No way one person can play all these in 3 months and the same games will be on sale, possibly even cheaper.”
Try as they might, OP was unconvinced and undeterred by the negativity, writing to one person, “Nope, each and every one is getting played and beat. Save this post for proof.” Good luck, OP.
