Summary
Like many long-running franchises,Star Warsis not immune to bad — and we mean bad — video game entries. From the extremely barebones revival of Battlefront in 2015 to the absurdly short Star Wars Force Unleashed sequel, there is no shortage of bad games that many of us fell victim to.
However, none are more notorious than Star Wars Kinect, a game so bad that many would like to forget it ever existed. Fear not, asFortnitehas decided to revive the eternal meme that is Galactic Dance Off.
Look How They Massacred My Boy, Han Solo
As first shared by a Fortnite fan on Reddit, and later posted to social media, when interacting with Han Solo in Fortnite, he’ll begin brushing his shoulders, just like he did in the “I’m Han Solo” dance.
For the uninitiated, “I’m Han Solo” is a parody of Jason Derulo’s real-life “Ridin' Solo” song, with its lyrics being replaced by all things Han Solo.
It was one of several songs parodied by Star Wars Kinect’s dance-off mode, though none were as infamous as Han Solo dancing and brushing his shoulders to awful pop music.
In fact, it’s so notorious thatit spawned a large-scale investigative-type piece from New York Magazine about how it, and all the other songs in the mode, came to be. It’s also become an everlasting meme in Star Wars circles, with even the Han Solo origin movie being redubbed with the song.
For longtime fans of Star Wars, it’s another brutal reminder of the kinds of games we got in-between actual gems. And for those late to the party, well, welcome to the next bit of nightmare fuel. May “I’m Solo, I’m Han Solo, I’m Han Solo,” never escape your ears.
