Summary
By this point, it’s no secret thatFortnitehasa ton — and we mean a ton — of skins available. Since the game initially released in 2017,over 2,200 skins have been added to the game, according to FNBR.co.
There’s literally a skin for everyone, ranging from music icons like Juice WRLD and Snoop Doggtoanime mainstays like Naruto and Gokutoreal-life athletes, down tocartoon charactersandcomic book heroes and villains. Of course, many of these items aren’t free and require a real-life investment in the form of V-Bucks,and things can get expensive very quickly.
So do any of Fortnite’s most hardcore players have “Buyer’s Remorse?” Taking to Reddit, they answered that question, with many offering a resounding NO.
“It’s One Skin, Michael, What Could It Cost? 10 Dollars?”
“It’s not that I regret spending the amount of money I’ve spent, it’s that I wish I would’ve used it more wisely,“the thread’s top commenter wrote. “(I) wasted too many V-Bucks on skins I only used a few times.”
That’s a pretty valid assessment. FOMO is one heck of a feeling, and Fortnite is no exception to it.It’s why a group of parents is attempting to sue Epic Games.
“I’ll only regret it if Fortnite shuts down,“one user wrote in response. If Fortnite were to shut down, things would quickly unravel because of how much money tied up in digital cosmetics would vanish in thin air.
Elsewhere,a player said they do regret it “a little,“particularly as they don’t play anymore, citing real-life circumstances for ditching the game. Another user agreed, though admitted “what’s done is done.”
In a rather interesting thought exercise,a separate gamer noted that when it comes to Fortnite “what you see is what you get,“meaning there isn’t as much buyer’s remorse compared to other games, especially when you know upfront what you’re getting and for how much.
“Nope, I have fun and that’s what matters,“someone added. “We only live once.”
If it wasn’t already abundantly clear, aside from the few that admitted they no longer play, most Fortnite players have zero regrets about the money they’ve spent. Maybe one day they will, but for now, those V-Bucks are going to keep getting spent.
