Summary
FortniteChapter 6, Season 3 was already guaranteed to be a divisive season thanks to its focus onStar Wars, but it’s going to be even more controversial since it doesn’t have any normal weapons or even ammo.
Even though we’re afew days away from it being Star Wars Day on May 4, Epic Games and Fortnite have decided tofast-forward the celebrations with a brand-new season themed around the Force. While this isn’t a new occurrence for Fortnite since it’steamed up with Disney and Star Wars so many times, Galactic Battle does take things a step further than before.
Instead of just chucking in some Lightsabers and Star Wars characters and calling it a day, Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 3 goes all in on the series, including adding Starfighters and a bunch of familiar locations. Some might think that it’s even gone too far,as its loot pool consists entirely of Star Wars weapons and no ordinary guns.

Blasters At The Ready
Earlier this week, Epic Games revealed all of the gameplay details about Galactic Battle before the season kicked off, which included sharing all of the weapons that are going to be included. The lineup shown consisted entirely of blasters, Thermal Detonators, and Lightsabers, without a single normal gun to be seen or picked up. It seems this will last the whole season, too, with more blasters planned to be added.
Most players assumed this was just to highlight the guns and that other ordinary weapons from Chapter 6 would be included, but that’s not the case at all. Now that Galactic Battle has gone live, players have discovered that you can only wield Star Wars-themed weapons when playing Battle Royale, something that’s sure to be controversial considering how seriously competitive players take the game.
All of the Star Wars guns have unlimited ammo and work on a cooldown, which means that Ammo Boxes have also been vaulted for the first time ever.
To be fair, the Blasters are incredibly powerful and basically work like normal guns without ammo, but it is a little weird that they’re the only weapon on the Island right now, as previous Star Wars seasons have still had other guns.Considering how long the season is going to go on for, it’ll be interesting to see how players react and if Epic ends up caving and adding a few bullet-based arms.
