The first-ever teaser forSpider-Man: Brand New Dayhas been shared, and it gives us an official glimpse at Spider-Man’s new suit.
For a while, the status of the next Spider-Man film has seemed a little rocky. Marvel and Sony seemed unsure as to whether they wanted tomake a more grounded “street-level” movie or another multidimensional affair like No Way Home. That’s all in the past, though, andBrand New Day seems to be pretty set in stone now.
In fact, Spider-Man: Brand New Day actually just started filming its first scenes yesterday, withtons of set photos and leaks already being shared all across the web(pardon the pun). Marvel seems to be expecting this,as it’s just released a teaser for the movie that’s focused on the thing that’ll leak first- Spider-Man’s new suit.
Spidey’s getting a new suit in Brand New Day, but it doesn’t look too different
It’d be hard to improve on No Way Home, but here’s hoping
Over on Twitter,Sony Pictures shared a very quick teaser with the caption “Something brand new is coming”. The video shows a few quick shots of Spider-Man’s new suit, confirming once and for all that Peter isn’t going to be rocking the same suit he did in No Way Home.
It’s a little hard to glean much from a nine-second clip that only gives us a few shots of Spidey’s suit, but the one bigtakeaway from it is that Brand New Day’s suit will have raised webbing, something that Tobey Maguire’s suit had in all three of his films. It’s not a major takeaway, but it’s an interesting one nonetheless.
From what we can see of the suit,it also looks a little less shiny and homemade than the one at the end of No Way Home. That might just be a lighting thing, but it does seem like it’s seen some changes to its texture. No Way Home’s “Final Swing” suit was fantastic, though, so here’s hoping it’s a mid-movie upgrade.
Of course, considering the fact that Brand New Day is now filming its first scenes, which reportedly include The Punisher and Spider-Man, it’s only a matter of time until set photos leak and we get a proper look at the suit. For now, though, we’ve at least got a little glimpse of what’s coming.
