The update aims to offer hours of new content, building on the original game’s short but beloved runtime.
First released in May 2024, Little Kitty, Big City was praised for its charm, humor, and cozy open-world design. However, some felt the experience ended too quickly, clocking in at just 2.5 hours for the main objectives, and around 6.5 hours for 100 percent completion. This update appears to be a direct response, adding more room to explore and more reasons to linger in the cityscape.
The update also coincides with the game’s first birthday and follows its PlayStation 4 and 5 release on Jun 04, 2025. Since its launch, Little Kitty, Big City has become a breakout indie hit, earning awards like Best Debut Game at The Indie Game Awards and the Xbox Excellence Award from Microsoft. It’s also been nominated at the BAFTAs, DICE Awards, and Golden Joystick Awards.
The new update will launch later this summer, with an exact release date still to be announced.
