“It All Started With A Crystal, Or So The Legend Says”

And Now It Can End There Too

Square Enix PresidentTakashi Kiryu recently talked aboutthe decline in FF14’s player count since the launch of the most recent expansion, Dawntrail, and responded that they “are aware” to questions about the decline in quality since then. “I’ve been feeling that our quality of service has declined recently,“Naoki Yoshida (Yoshi-P) said. “[There have been] too many bugs that we need to have an emergency maintenance or hotfix for.”

“We grew bigger and processes didn’t fully work out the way we had intended them to. We want to improve this again. Especially with the new and big content we have recently released, this was difficult,” said Yoshida. “We want to keep providing fun and engaging content, and we will strive to do better.”

While players wait for these promised improvements, you can see where the inspiration for the Walk of Echoes raid series (andthat darling best girl Prishe) came from in preparation for the upcoming raid,San d’Oria: The Second Walk. Full disclosure: I am hopelessly addicted to FF11 and play both games regularly. The references in the raid series are incredibly enjoyable and worth experiencing firsthand in both games.

“San d’Oria: The Second Walk” is coming with patch 7.3 in August, giving players this discounted month to experience FF11 before the reimagined raid version.
