Few ratings are more impactful for a ball-carrier to have than speed. Speed can make a bad player usable, a good player great, and a great player into a Heisman winner. When that player who has speed is a Running Back, it makes them a scary prospect to defend on every single play.

These Running Backs have absurd speed, but many of them have some impressive other stats, too. Speed alone isn’t going to help you break tackles, though it might keep you from needing to break that tackle in the first place.

How To Best Utilize A Fast Running Back
There’s no one way to utilize a fast RB, and how you do is going todepend significantly on what secondary ratings your RB is strong in.
Agile Running Backs
Agile RBs typically aren’t running through an opponent, and are insteadmaking an opponent miss with a juke, a spin, or a quick change in direction. This is going to be the most common type of fast RB, are generally best used outside the tackles and on screen passes.
Power Running Backs
More rare are the RBs with elite speed but also the ability to break tackles and run through opponents. These RBsdon’t necessarily have to make opponents miss, and instead can move a pile in a short yardage situation, as well as create distance in the open-field.
These RBs are great on the goal line, but they can also break an inside run for a huge gain, too.
