Fanatical allowed you to pick up some of this year’s best gamesfor as little as $1 last month via its mystery bundle. If you missed out or didn’t end up getting the games you wanted, good news: the deal-focused video game site is back with another mystery bundle for July, and this one’s even better.
The difference between last month’s mystery bundles and these is rather than unlocking keys, you’re buying boxes. The system is the same, for the most part. You buy a box, or multiple boxes, starting from $1,but you don’t know what game is inside. The main difference this time around, and the reason they’re called boxes, is that some of those boxes might include multiple games, and maybe even a console to play them on.
Fanatical’s $1 mystery boxes could have anything from an undiscovered indie gem to a Steam Deck inside
Throughout the mystery box bundle run, Fanatical will be dropping what it has dubbed golden boxes into the prize pool. Rather than just one game, a golden box will include multiple games worth a total of more than $1,000. Quite the deal for a $1 box. There will also be boxes with 1TBSteam Decksand VR headsets inside, as well as a few with $100 Fanatical gift vouchers so you can buy whichever games you want.
Just like the previous mystery bundle, there are some very big games potentially up for grabs.Clair Obscur: Expedition 33is back among the games available, meaning you can possibly pick up the frontrunner for 2025’s Game of the Year for just $1.Doom: The Dark AgesandStellar Bladeare included among the heavy hitters, as isRematch, which wasn’t a part of the prior bundle since it hadn’t been released.
You can technically get these games for less than $1, as the more boxes you buy in one go, the cheaper they become. All the way up to 25 mystery boxes for $15.99, meaning you’re paying less than 64 cents for each one. There’s no guarantee you’ll get one of the big triple-A games mentioned or a Steam Deck, of course, but every box will have at least one game in it.
You can also make sure you don’t end up with a game you already own. Just make sure Fanatical is linked to yourSteamlibrary to ensure you don’t open a box to find a second copy of a game you bought previously. You should also open every box before going back to buy more. What’s in your boxes is decided when you purchase them, which means if you buy two batches of 25 in one transaction, there’s a risk of the same games appearing in both bundles.
